Dancepointe - Discussion

Hi micollh,
My DD is in Dancepointe at Jurong West Stadium for almost 4 years. She is now 7 and taking RAD grade 2. From my observation, the first 2 years is basically for them to learn follow instruction and the music rhythm. I see a great difference in grade 1. My DD likes her teacher. Her class are quite discipline. They did well for their Grade 1 exam. -
ic. so during her PS year… did they teacher feedback on how ur girl is doing in class each time or only when we ask?
-
They will have open house yearly for the parents to see and know what the girls have learnt. May I know who is your DD’s ballet teacher ?
-
really? i was not told abt the open house thingy… mine is is sengkang branch. teacher is mariska.
-
Yes, there will be openhouse yearly. Usually is before exam.
I know Ms. Mariska. She taught my DD for Pre-Primary level last year when her teacher is away for study. No worry. She is very experience. Most of the girls in my DD’s class scored very good result for their Pre-Primary exam. -
ic thanks. my DD is PS level so no exam. just let her enjoy… i prefer classes with feedback from teacher cos we cant sit in wont know what are they doing inside the studios… haa… thanks

You are welcome.

Dancepointe used to be a good ballet place when it first started. Some teachers are nice and patient, some just shouted at the children, showing their impatience and a nightmare to children. Not sure if the school management realised or not, hope they are not engrossed in profit maximisation to realise this.

Reiko, so far, we did not encounter "rude" teacher… but thanks to point out. the staff is also very friendly…as in profit, i dun think they charge high too.anyway, for preschool ballet teachers, we are happy so far…

Maybe you are lucky - is it Mariska? My friend said she is nice. I think she has another covering teacher and her daughter cried after the class because the teacher shouted at her - personally a teacher should be patient, maybe she was in a bad mood that day. i heard for primary level - the fees for each term is S$178 - not sure if this is high but just know that the fees had increased recently to cover rising staff costs, etc. Recently, my friend tried to ask the reception for some info and the reply is "I don’t know" most of the times. Why did the school engage a "I don’t know"? My friend was too surprised and just did not want to talk further to her as it was a waste of time. How to communicate then? One wonders if such a staff justifies the rising staff costs. God knows.
