Dancepointe - Discussion

just to share, i signed up with DancePointe for a term and decided not to continue…
reason is i was promised that the class size will be max 12 and ended up i see new kids turning up for trial every week as they intend to increase the size to 20 giving me reason there are 2 teachers but from what i observed, the asst teacher is quite redundant and not really correcting the kids…
on top of that, they allow parents of existing students to enter the studio as and when though i was told parents are to remain outside… there will always be at least 2 new kids attending the class as trial every week and i find this very disruptive too… -

Which branch was that? My kids are with Dancepointe too. All parents are seated outside, even the blind are not opened so that the kids are not disrupted. the side door was locked too so that other kids/parents are not able to enter during lessons.just to share, i signed up with DancePointe for a term and decided not to continue..

Yes, my DD also in the Dancepointe. We are told to sit outside except those who came for the trial. Parent will join and see.
I believed that every course bound to have trial lesson for children to join before they decide the attend the class continuously. I think that as a parent you will not want to pay for a whole term fee and realise that the kids are not interested in the class. -
some feedback to share… i feel the teacher in dancepointe (PS) is not so interactive with parents. they just finish their class, then if parents want to ask question, always the same answer, "she is ok" and not everytime she will feedback to us on our girl. i feedback to my DH, he said maybe cos PS class is too basic to comment much, so long the child din make a fuss in class, they are just "enjoying" the movements and songs… what do you think ?

Hi micollh,
My DD is in Dancepointe at Jurong West Stadium for almost 4 years. She is now 7 and taking RAD grade 2. From my observation, the first 2 years is basically for them to learn follow instruction and the music rhythm. I see a great difference in grade 1. My DD likes her teacher. Her class are quite discipline. They did well for their Grade 1 exam. -
ic. so during her PS year… did they teacher feedback on how ur girl is doing in class each time or only when we ask?
-
They will have open house yearly for the parents to see and know what the girls have learnt. May I know who is your DD’s ballet teacher ?
-
really? i was not told abt the open house thingy… mine is is sengkang branch. teacher is mariska.
-
Yes, there will be openhouse yearly. Usually is before exam.
I know Ms. Mariska. She taught my DD for Pre-Primary level last year when her teacher is away for study. No worry. She is very experience. Most of the girls in my DD’s class scored very good result for their Pre-Primary exam.
