I think sudoku & chess are great… I would say monopoly helps in basic accounting - deducting & adding plus we have the wonderful Scrabble. Other good ones:

        1. Fishing
        2. Mahjong (still thinking on this one- maybe it can be good)
        3.Snake and ladders
        4.Cluedo
        5.Guess-who
        6.Life
        7.Checkers

          Hi All,

I am looking for Board Games that can stimulate my kid's IQ, anybody can advise?

          TIA
          Your can try

          Rummikub
          Quorridor
          CrossTrack
          Monopoly Deal
Ugly Doll Card Game (very noisy game)

You can go to MindCafe. They have many board games for you to try. If you like it then you go buy from outside. The guys there will teach you how to play so you get into the game fast. They charge hourly, I like their tandoori chicken salad.

A game should be interesting to the child . Playing board games just so that it is said to be stimulating would not serve the purpose, IMHO.

Yup! They're very entertaining. Keeps my son entertained for a long time. Problem is finding someone to play with him.

                      You can try

                      1) settlers of catan
                      2) Ticket to Ride
                      3) Stone Edge
                      4) St Petersberg

These board game are suitable even for adults and they are not that common so it will be cool for your kids to play. You can also bring you kid to settlers cafe or Pit Stop as they have lots of boardgames for you to try before you go out and purchase any that you like !
