[Serangoon] Primary Schools

Thx magiccastle.
I prob wont transfer to the sch as the only reason for my choice of school is tht is is at least average in quality and not too far fr home. Also not eyeing GEP.
Thx so much once agn for the kind words. -
Both my parents and parents-in-law are staying at Serangoon North Ave 4. They are the care taker and we also done the statutory declaration but what’s now? Dun even have any balloting chance for Rosyth or neither the nearest Hougang under phase 2c. As all are out of 1km, so defeat the purpose right? And we not because of Rosyth, we will be happy if this is just an average school and as long as our care takers are able to reach them. And Rosyth should based on individual yearly birth rate and they should know that those born in 2005 will have a higher rate as compare to last year. And should open more vacancies. Very unfair, so wat’s now, we as working adults wan to make them easier for our parents, turns out to be tedious in fact. More and more of our unmarried friends are getting frighten of P1 registration cycle and some even say we dun wan to give birth liao la.

I thought this year's registration is based on pre-GE boundaries?Busymom:

- the change in political boundaries for Rosyth to be transferred from Aljunied to AMK GRC heard that there is significnt increases in grassroot applications. MOE should have made us aware.

Yes if the system is fairer. But although they reg years bk, the grl can use the current political as well.[/quote]So, now I see where the huge 1km registrations came from because given a choice, grassroot leaders in the previous Aljunied GRC would opt for Rosyth.......mmmm! there are several HDB blocks in this newly acquired enclave mostly within 1km .......those PVs thinking of buying/renting houses within 1km, do watch out - it is a gamble. :xedfingers: -

If Rosyth was in Aljunied GRC based on pre-GE boundaries, it would still be considered as a school in Aljunied GRC and not AMK GRC in this year's registration. GRLs residing in the AMK GRC should not be able to apply to this school in phase 2B unless they were serving in Aljunied GRC. -

Yes this is what I understand too.

Nope. The other way round. Rosyth is transferred to amk grc and the the amk grassroots can apply.

I think there's a lot of confusion. Rosyth has ALWAYS been in AMK GRC. I have been a GRL in AMK GRC for 6 years so I know best. So based on old GE boundaries, Rosyth is still within AMK GRC. Pls verify your info first before saying it to confuse people further. -
Confusing indeed. So now Rosyth is in aljunied GRC?
-
Too bad i cant check the new residential units included. I heard fr the school that the changes affected the number of units included and thus we got concerned.
-
Yes. I can confirm that Rosyth was and is now still in AMK GRC. I checked the school before and after the GE just to confirm which GRC is it under. But under AMK GRC, there are some changes to the boundaries.
