Victoria School

Hi, saw this on the straits times today about VJC is proposing to MOE to change to IP. Another IP option for students interested in IP if the proposal is successful ....
\"VJC, which currently runs a four-year integrated programme admitting students at the Sec 3 level, submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Education about two weeks ago indicating that it hopes to extend its programme to six years, and admit Sec 1 students to the school.\"

Indeed breaking news;
I think VJC going IP in sec 1 is effectively closing all doors to Express/Special Stream students’ dream of going into a Top 5 JC. Imagine the VS, Anglican High, Cedar, TKGS, TK Sec, Maris Stella, Xinmin, Anderson students’ hopes are all dashed when NJC and now VJC goes IP. -

Why? they can still join them at year 3 wat . They could also join them after 'o' level .Indeed breaking news;

I think they're doing away with intakes at Yr 3. At least for NJC. This is the last year they'll conduct intakes at Yr 3. From next year, it'll only be at Yr 1 and Yr 5.

PSLE becomes more important, PSLE is the \"new O levels\" which dishes out top JC postings, and PSLE will get more competitive and important than ever.

Hello lalala,
My son got 25+ for his PSLE and he wanted to try the schools like NJC, ACSI and VS.
We realised that both NJC and ACSI did not suit the needs of my son. So, we decided to opt for VS. After my son enrolled in VS, his studies have been quite good, like top 5 in the class.
He has a wider social circle than before as all his friends gets along well with him. He did not used to like sports and had no stamina before, but after enrolling in VS, he managed to get a silver in his NAPFA test after training.
VS is also very strong in the Arts. For this year’s SYF (Singapore Youth Festival) almost all the performing groups got a gold. It was a great achievement!
For sports, VS was the ONLY school to have won both Gold medals for ‘B’ Division and ‘C’ Division more than 3 times.
But most importantly, VS has an extremely strong bond with each other as a school. You may wonder why I say so. After the EMD (Evening of Music and Drama), all the people performing there sang the VS anthem and sang the VS cheer. The boys were like in a trance when they were singing the cheer. It was a very touching moment to see as everyone(including Victorians who were audiences) came in and sang together.
Victoria School is ‘Always Something More’.
The school is all-rounded in areas such as Academic, Sports and the Arts. The boys come from all walks of life. However, most of them are cheerful, confident, presentable and athletic.
VS shapes everyone to be a Gentleman, Professional and a Sportsman.
That is why I enrolled my son into the school and I have never regretted making this decision. -

Victorians' bonding!

I had my heart set on my son going to VS after his PSLE. However, he has other ideas and wants to go to the school that he DSA’d for. VS has all along appealed me to because of its strong bonding among the students and an all-rounder in academic ability and sporting culture. When is Victoria’s Open House? I think it would be good to attend to get a feel of the school.
