The purpose of the music lesson is to try cultivate a love and appreciation for music...not really becoming expert. Knowing how to appreciate music and live a fruitful and enjoyable life is very much a critical component of education. Not just study and learn life skills.

Agreed. But the music tr is giving so much hw every week. That's not the way to teach students to appreciate music. On top of that, the students already have loads of hw. The sc and maths tr seem to be rushing thru, last term, the sc tr even had to 'borrow' periods from other subject tr.
So, if they take out music and Malay, then can have more periods for the more impt subj.

Haha....I guess they are pushing \"Teaching for Understanding\" too far. Music isn't meant to be something to be understood.

Heard that if the students shave Botak to support cancer foundation, they can get some CIP hours. 😄

Oh yes, Hair for Hope. Read on facebk that 1 Y1 boy already shaved his hair.
It takes courage to do that, even more difficult for a girl.

When students get injured during CCA trainings, can they claim for medical treatment? I wrote to the CCA head, but she did not reply. Wonder who I should write to? Any idea?

Thanks Daisyt, I found out already. Just go to the office and get the claim form and submit with the receipt back to the office. 😄

How long does it take to walk from Boon Lay MRT to RV ?

There is a side door on Jalan Boon Lay right ?
I reckon if can cut thru Jurong Point then should take less than 10 minutes.

It takes 10-12 min if you walk briskly to the side gate. Visitors must use the main gate, so if you walk to the main gate, it takes another 7 minutes.
You can also take bus 198 from the interchange and alight at the main gate.

My year 3 daughter’s class will be having 4 tests (Chinese, Lang Art, SCS and Chemistry) this Friday.

Is it common in RVHS to have that many tests all in one day? Or is it due to lack of communications and co-ordination among subject teachers??
I remember there are guidelines at univ disallowing consecutive exam times, minimum break time between exams. Do I remember wrongly?
Just wonder how these students handle 4 tests in a day.
