Seems like there were 2 pple who pulled out at the last minute, thus creating 2 more places.

These are the stats: I called the school at 5pm :oops:

within 1km: 76
1 - 2km : 28

MOE websites states 103 though so maybe 1 pulled out.

there is balloting done for 1 - 2km. 28 parents balloting for 21 vacancies...

So what can the 6 from more than 2km do? Can register in another sch today before the 4.30pm closing time? Or must withdraw from plmgs 1st?? What's the procedure?

The 6 were told to register another school i think.. Yup, if they knew it before 4.30pm, they can pull out and register in another school.

Err.... I am not so sure about the de-registering portion. It should be going to the school and removing your application and head to another school to register.

From past yr experience, PLMGPS is kind enough to inform parents of those who have no chance of getting in due to more than 2km and limited vacancy - the office will call you personally and advice you to withdraw so tt you could apply for another sch and not wait for the next phase. So you may notice a change in the no. applied and vacancy available - suddenly becomes equal. That's what I appreciate about PLMGPS - not so concern about the school being so popular and have to conduct ballot but child's (not even their pupils yet) interest comes 1st - no chance, quickly apply for another sch
