If U register as 1 slip and if that 1 slip get pick, all 6 will go in.
If u choose to put in 6 names (i.e. 6 slips), only the one that gets picks go in. The rest of the 5 if not pick get left behind.

If the 6s are the last one to be called, and they are all in one slip, yes, the school has to create extra places. Actually, this would be the most ideal situation. Imagine if the 6s were to be called prior to the last place left, it means fewer of other applicants would be able to get in.

My DD1 will be registering next year… but looks like the nearest pri sch for me is over-subscribed. and i’ve got no backup plans!!! arghs…

you should be safe if you are staying <1km from plmgps and registering under phase 2c.. but if you look at the school's balloting history, there are balloting conducted at <1km for phase 2c in year 2006 & 2007. as a ks parent, you may wish to have a backup plan in place(in case the unexpected happen).. or else PV in the school(almost guaranteed for <1km)
