Circle line will be ready by Oct 2011. so another option for travel by mrt. Anyway, I wonder if there’s any HPPS students going to P1 next year and also living in Bishan?

Maybe we can consider carpooling or sharing cabs? Do PM me if there’s any. Thanks!

Any parents here in the HPPA?

Realised you need to pay to join... I thought only volunteer time only...
There is another group of PVs you can join without payment. They are part of SFE- sorry cant remember what it stands for but its affiliated with MCYS programs. You will get info during orientation or first few days of school. They organize plenty of workshops for parents.

The school will definitely need PVs first week of school next year due to the move to holding premises. the website may have info or just call the OM for more info. Let me look up the letter we received recently and post the relevant contact details if anyone is keen.

Hall duty is excellent way to observe your (first) child's first moments in primary school settings. Then again HPPS is more lenient than other schools I know in allowing parents in the first few days.

Oh, there's something called SFE? I've never heard of it :scratchhead: In any case, I don't wish to be involved with MCYS or the govt in any way. :siam:

I've also received the letter asking for volunteers to do tours of the new campus. But I think I'll be more involved in BASC (cos that was my PV dept last year).

 I didn't know that. Guess I've to rethink my volunteering.

Oh please dont... in fact, a common opinion is that this group is 'less political' than the one requiring payment 😜
All schools have this program- School Family Life Education, i think thats SFE. They can tap into MCYS funds for schools to engage professionals to conduct workshops and talks.

You can just continue with your current PV roles and not be part of this at all! AFter all, your time at BASC is benefitting the children directly.

Oh yes, my sons' kindy is part of this programme too and they conduct workshops and there was once they tricked me to attend this parenting talk. I kept questioning the Speaker on what she was saying til she couldn't support the points she was raising. It was hilarious.

But have to say I was :stompfeet:   that I had to waste time and sit through this talk.

I hate people telling me HOW TO parent my own children.

Sorry, :offtopic: liao, just ranting. :imsorry:

Will definitely help BASC if they need more help but am sure they have other \"victims\" next year anyway, parents who want to PV for the P2B 2013 cohort. πŸ˜†
