Comparing Math Enrichment Programmes
-
My daughter has been learning math at home afterschool. I heard that MPM was good. But we are using beestar. The weekly worksheets are curriculum-based, full of all real life world problems, challenging stuff to help kids thinking. DD enjoys it a lot~~

If your main concern is more curriculum based and his foundation is not there, I would think that Math tuition is more suitable for him. Consider one to one tuition or small group tuition.

Hi Lisayvonne
Thanks for sharing… what is beestar? How to get the worksheets? -
Hi,
Yes, you need maths tuition instead of enrichment. maths enrichment are for students with very good maths foundation and seeking to stretch their knowledge. Mind stretcher only throw your child into a big class with everyone. And everyone will have the same materials. Good luck yah, if you sign up with them.
I have a friend, Eugene, who specialises in Primary school maths tuition, especially the lower primary of 1 to 3. He has done a lot of research and has ample experience. Some of my students’ younger siblings actually went to him and have nothing but good feedback. I dun dare to post his number here on the forum. So if you need his number, feel free to PM me yah.
BTW, I am not the one teaching. I cant teach primary school maths, a specialist is needed. I am a specialist in secondary school maths though. -

Beestar is a website providing online math and reading worksheets for kids. Here is the linkage http://www.beestar.org, and you can check it out.
For the worksheets, as a parent, you set up a parent account and a student account here in Beestar. Then every semester, you log in to register your child for a free weekly math program for as long as you want, without any obligation.

hi Lisa,
I have checked out the website… Beestar isnt going to help einleda… Her son needs a proper teacher to teach her son maths personally… -
What is covered in the Math Olypiad programme? Is it related to the Math done in school? Would it help in improving Math concepts?
My boy did CMA when he was in P1 and it did help him with mental calculation till today. I guess it does help as he is very fast in mental calculations compared to all of us at home including his younger brother who didn’t attend CMA. -
