My boys do most of their studies at the dining table. Only when we need to use the dining table, they study in their study rooms. I suppose I am lucky that the boys usually tell me what they are doing - like which subject they are revising or what kind of projects they are doing. They tell me not because they think I don't trust them. They sometimes seek my advice about their revision plan as whether they are spending too much or too little time on one subject or if their study methods are on the right track.

Didn't your boys insist of doing their studies or using com in their study rooms since they have one?

My ds only sec1 now and I have yet to face similar issue, may be for sec 1 they no need to bring com to school. But he has begun to ask me when he can get his own laptop. I begin to 🙏 Is it better not to get him a personal laptop and better share with parent ? Currently, he is borrowing mine when he has online homework to submit or checking emb ...

My ds2 is also Sec 1 this year. We got him a personal laptop at the beginning of the year and he promised not to play games. I think they may still play occasionally but not too often. That could be why they never felt the need to hide away in their study rooms.

I have seen ds on his laptop apparently playing games (eg shooting missiles at flying objects etc), but he claims he is just "watching video". I like to believe him as he has always been honest with me.

But I don’t understand his type of videos.

        Can any parent enlighten me?

What time does your sec 1 sleep on weekday these days?

My ds has frequently been working on assignments and studying for tests these days and has been sleeping late night, usually after 11:30 pm and sometimes past meet night. Water bottle is also not empty after a day in school… I am beginning to worry about his health. He is definitely not playing computer game as I can see him busy doing homework, typing and printing…etc For the past two days, he fell a sleep in the bus on his journey back and missed his bus stop…

I am not sure if this is due to his poor time management or there are really so much work to hand in at one go.

Hi Otah, my DD is in sec 2. Ever since he entered HCI, he has been sleeping late most of the time to finish up his hw, assignments, ace... Staying up till past midnight is norm especially during test period. I dun tink ur DS has poor time management but rathar the workload is really heavy especially they r home late due to cca etc n can only get started in the evening. Almost everyday there is a dateline for submission, be it daily hw, assignments, ace...I was also worried like you but luckily my DS is those happy go lucky type, so he can take the pressure. But once the EOY exam is ovr, they can totally relax. I'm glad the sch also has sabbitical wks for the boys to destress...Dun worry too much, juz take it as a training for them.

Is it a norm to have a paper not returned yet at this moment still and the result is going to be out tomorrow?

Heard that students who consistently get A1 for a subject will be exempted from taking the EOY exam for that subject. When do the school normally issue EOY exam exemption letter to the relevant students? Will there still be test in term 4 besides exam ?
