Thanks. I've just had a look at the MTR system map again after your post. My mistake, I was under the impression that the MTR goes all the way to the HKIA. Although we will be travelling light, I don't think I want to lug my stuff up n down the subway/train/bus. Somemore, its our first time in HK, and we don't speak cantonese. :faint: Will likely opt for the direct airport shuttle straight to hotel.
the shuttle i was referring to was the airport express shuttle that takes you from kowloon airport express station to the hotel, assuming you take the airport expresss (train) from hkia to town, sorry wasn't clear enough
personally i prefer the airport express train from hkia to kowloon, followed by their free shuttle bus to take you to hotel. train fare is HK$80 one way to kowloon, HK$100 one way to HK station.
the nearest mtr station to hkia is tsing yi, not in airport
Question: I've booked the cheapest double room. Not expecting harbour view or anything fanciful, but can I expect a decent and clean room? Is it true that the hotel was refurbished recently?
Sorry for the many questions. TIA -

Yes... Umbrella stroller is handy when it comes to travelling. Been to hkg twice with two young kids. Both DH and I carried an umbrella stroller each (can easily carry across the shoulder). It's lot lighter and can get cheap ones and oso easy to maneuver

mico,
I will be using my BECO carrier to HKG of my 4yo DD. For my 18mths DS, i am loaning from my fren ERGO carrier. I used the BECO carrier on mt DD when we were at JPN last year.. I don't like to bring scroller around as it will be bulky and as mentioned by you, scare hard to move about.. moreover HKG is full of ppl..
I will be using the carrier for my DD when she is sleepy and tired. Most of the time of coz would want her to walk by herself. -
carrier ?? ur back will be suffering wor…
-
what we did was plan for afternoon coffee break and allow DS to catch his nap while we sip coffee in a nice cafe
-
mico,
Ya… if we carrier them too long of coz back and shoulder ache… as Tankee mentioned, afternoon time take a coffee break and let the kids nap and we also can rest.
Only night time going back to hotel, will use carrier to bring them back to hotel. For my DS, of coz have to carrier him most of the time. -
actually, most of the time, it ended with just me and DS. DW would finish her coffee and continued with her shopping, meeting us later.
