:congrats: :rahrah: :boogie: :rahrah: :boogie:Thank you!! I'm within 1-2km.
Jurong west is less than 1km but don't want to stress and fight for a place. -
Thank you:)
Anyone DS or DD is studying in Xingnan now? Any feedback about the school? -
Hi LeeTaiTai,
These 2 years have been more stressful for parents registering their children for P1…since you are an ex-student of RGPS, secure a place for your daughter there FIRST. Many schools have reduced their intakes to go single session and PV is not guaranteed. -
Maybe I am ks , I am so worried policies may change a few years down the run that even phase 2A will be at risk and wonder if I should do PV incase , crazy but every year P1 registration so competitive until even if I got a place at 2A I also worry. I can imagine why some parents so Ks to register as PV in so Many schools .

Hi to those who have privilege of 2A,Dilemma ... What would you do if in my shoes ,should I do PV in Rulang?
Ex-student of rgps but distance far
Stay within 1 km of Rulang
I think many of us faced situation like you. Given too many choice may trouble us too.
That trouble me as well. In our situation, we should not consider based on the school distant as priority. You need to make a decision based on the higher chances of going to a popular school that you want. For others who has no privilege of going to a popular school in 2A, they are belong to 2B or 2C which will look into popular school that close to them with some extra effort. For those who can afford, they will move themselves to the mountain. That does not 100% guaranteed a place!
First you ask yourself how far is far that you can accept? To some, 20km still quite ok which they own a car and fetch the kid along the way to work. Some may feel 10km is too far. You may want to choose to move to school if really there is a choice. If all these still not workable, then you have no choice and will fall into the group who are belong to 2B and 2C. Then should not consider this category anymore. Put down and move on.
Once you can accept the distant, then forget about the popular school in 1km. Because you will never want to risk it by going thru balloting. So what if 22 within 1km is fighting for 20 seats, will you take the risk? Put the one that in front of your door step and move on. Grab your chance in P2A first so you have the stake to negotiate in future. Who know there may have vacancy in future?
In short, you are given a 2A which others does not have and they are willing to pay so much $$ to even buy a house nearby. You want to give up the chance and benefit others? Clear now? -
Ok point noted. Super enlightened !

hi LeeTaiTai,
use P2A - get into RGPS first. It’s risky to ballot for Rulang under P2B.
then use your daughter’s P1 RGPS year end results - try to seek transfer into Rulang.
if no vacancy in Rulang, wait till end of P3 (more fluid movement).
by end of P3 - if your daughter gets into GEP, then stay put at RGPS or transfer her out to another GEP school (example: NYPS).
if not, can still transfer her to Rulang, or to another affliated primary school. -
hi
I would like to seek some advice. My girl is currently 3 years old. We stay within 1 km of boon lay garden primary school. I am thinking ot move near to Rulang (<1 km) so as to secure a higher chance in phase 2b (need PV), but I heard that there is low chance of getting into the school even as PV and < 1km. What are the options we can consider or other primary schools? Thanks.
