that's why at the end of the day it's still advisable to go into an affliated primary school, because at the end of the day, no matter what, got safety net Secondary school to catch them.

then no need to keep driving inside Right lane all the time - keep pressing on oil to acclerate, keep having to catch up. So stressful!

if go to an affliated school - at least can keep to extreme Left lane.

Tried. But didn't get selected for PV into an affiliated school at Ph2B. I guess many people realise this and want to take this route.

Actually pri schools with affiliated sec also cannot stay in extreme left lane. At most, you can stay in middle lane. My biggest fear :nailbite: now is daughter's primary school raising COP (cut off points) to a standard almost like for non-affiliated.

Be it primary school with or without affiliation, parents have to step on oil all the time...no school now gives parents an easy time.

Many kids from affiliated primary schools like Cat High and St Nicks actually do not manage to make it back to the affiliated secondary school. My friends who were studying in these 2 schools in secondary tell me that the majority of students were not from the primary school. So that really says something. Being in elite schools like Cat High and St Nicks primary is not a guarantee of success. Whereas all these students from neighbourhood schools are making it into Cat High and St Nicks secondary based on merit.

i say go affliated primary school is good because … for those who score better, higher PSLE results, they can choose to go another dream school, or choose to remain back in their affliated Secondary school. At least there is a choice for them.

but if the child’s PSLE so so, then it’s fine and ok to stay back in affliated Secondary school.

btw, top Catholic High boys normally head for RI / HCI / NUSH.
top St Nick girls normally head for RGSS / NYGH, with a handful going NUSH.

they’ve a choice to go wherever they prefer.

Catholic High & St Nic may have affiliated sec but there is no guarantee…and that is so sad if kids don’t make it back there.

My daughter is in a primary school with affiliated sec…that’s the safety net for her but I do hope she can score better PSLE results so that she can choose another sec school of her choice or else go into the top few classes in affiliated sec.
