i say go affliated primary school is good because … for those who score better, higher PSLE results, they can choose to go another dream school, or choose to remain back in their affliated Secondary school. At least there is a choice for them.

but if the child’s PSLE so so, then it’s fine and ok to stay back in affliated Secondary school.

btw, top Catholic High boys normally head for RI / HCI / NUSH.
top St Nick girls normally head for RGSS / NYGH, with a handful going NUSH.

they’ve a choice to go wherever they prefer.

Catholic High & St Nic may have affiliated sec but there is no guarantee…and that is so sad if kids don’t make it back there.

My daughter is in a primary school with affiliated sec…that’s the safety net for her but I do hope she can score better PSLE results so that she can choose another sec school of her choice or else go into the top few classes in affiliated sec.

These are mostly run by PA right... Some private tuition and enrichment centers conduct such prep classes. Clementi Mall has two centres. You may want to see if either offer something suitable.

Personally, i find the effectiveness of any enrichment/ prep program hinge heavily on the teachers.

Can anyone advise me on the type of study table to get for a pri 1 child?

I have the plastic colourful ikea table n chairs but i think DD is getting too big to use for doing homework. I know there are those expensive ergonomic n adjust-as-grow type but i dont think i wanna spend so much. Any suggestions?
