nothing2do and Fairy, are your girls in GEP too?
No, she's not. She cleared the screening round but not the selection round. My son was. -
JustKP:
Besides Nat Tif Mummy's daughter, who has got a confirm offer from NYGH, anyone else has received the DSA outcome from NYGH? If so, was it via online status or letter?Fairy:
More & more of my daughter's friends (mainstream) have already received calls from NYGH informing them of a confirmed DSA place!
Seems like NYGH is so far the only school which has released the DSA result. I'm still waiting....... maybe no hope liao

My dd received her confirmed offer via mail weeks ago. Have you heard of anyone from mainstream getting into NYGH via Academics? A few of my friends' daughters tried and all were rejected. -
Don't worry, DSA still on going and can go in via PSLE. If you fret, your gal will get stress. BTW, my gal result range from 70+ to 80+ each subject for past 3 yrs, not that great. I have no idea where she stands compare to mainstream. If she cannot get the EESIS with her PSLE result, also taxing.
GEPers are different. SO long as they pass GEP and in IP schs, they're offered scholarship. So parents only need to pay for the supp fees. -
Original Title: RGS or NYGH
If my gal is better at languages and weaker at math, which school should she choose. She is also an average student in her class. Any advice. -
If your daughter is better at languages, NYGH has a very good bicultural programme. If she loves languages sheβll probably thrive in that programme. When you say your daughter is average in class, is she in GEP or mainstream?

Thanks for the reply. My gal is in GEP. After PSLE examination, will have to discussed with her regarding the choice of school. -
Hi 2ct. Your dd should do fine in either school as both have accepted her based on academic strength. My consideration for my dd was which school she would be more comfortable in, given her personality and her subject strengths. The decision was very straightforward for us as my dd had a clear idea of which was her preferred school & she clearly suited one school better. Has your dd indicated any preference? Good luck on your decision.

I am also facing the same problem. My GEP dd is very strong in both her languages, weaker in Math & Science. She is bold, out spoken & active.
During the open hse, we find the NYGH gals are shyer, she describes the principal as \"a kind grandmother\" and the Bicultural Programme seems to suit her.
RGS gals are more \"cheerful & vibrant\", seems to suit her character better.
As I understanding RGS has a \"Chinese Special Programme\", anyone know of any student in this programme?
