he surely can! jia-you!! especially when his dad/mom has joined ks forum so soon (i only started browsing this forum this year)! with all the advice given by the expert (or kiasu?) parents in this forum, you will definitely know how to prepare your son adequately for psle in 3 years' time! btw, my younger boy is also in P3 this year, so we will meet again in this forum (maybe psle 2014 thread?) in 3 years' time! :lovesite:

Actually, I joined this site more for my daughter who is p5 this year...She is in a dilema of whether of choosing RGS or NYGH as her dream school......

Has she attended the Open Houses of both schools? If not, do. It'll give her an idea of what the two schools offer and the school culture and environment. The two schools are rather different in terms of culture and ethos.[/quote]
No offence to NYGH but i am more of the potato....and i believe that RGS will provide her a more multi-cultural and worldly perspective rather to narrowly focus on Chinese and China.

And RGS /RI do have a long illustrious history that no school in SIngapore can match

SInce she is undecided, I get to give my opinion πŸ˜‚

In the RGS/NYGH thread, there were a few comments on RGS’ keen emphasis on the pursuit of excellence and high ability performance; some parents felt that they prefer an environment with more overall character development, instead of one where students are continually pushed to be the best.

I’m wondering if RI echoes that too. Is there a heavy emphasis on being the best of the best? My dh claims he never felt that in his time, but that was dinosaur era…

my dh says that too.. but 'his time' was decades ago! guess things have changed.. think our DS will feel more pressurized to excel in RI, than during their daddies' time!
