Hi Daisyt, seems that the Y1s are more interesting in the partial or full exemption thing. No one is thinking about EOY.

Anyone remember the weightage for this CA? -
sall, they have leadership programes, overseas learning trip.
The school has always emphasise, consistent study and not chiong in the last minute. Those who are doing this would stand out. Unfortunately many students still do not understand this logic, still believe chiong at last minute would do fine. -
MXYMum:
I think all IP schools are like that. Lots of project, but even though not included in GPA, the students still benefit in one way or another.
I always see my gal spending all her time on projects, not studying for exams. 1st it was Malay video, followed by CID, and now it's IT project. They spend so much time on these projects and yet their grades do not count towards their GPA. I really don't know what to say ....
For the Malay video, I'm not sure if they learn anything much. They basically wrote the entire skit in English and translate to Malay using Google translator. They don't even know what they are talking about ...
I have the chance to check the time-table and workload of a Sec 3 student from a neighbourhood sch and the programme is very light. The students there are so relaxed, but they won't benefit so much. -
sall:
Any parents whose kids had full/partial exemption before? Can share what they did when the rest were mugging for EOY?
For partial exemption: The child doesnt need to attend the test for the subject if he's exempted from that subject. For example, if he scored 80 and abv for bio and bio test is at 8am on thursday, he doesnt need to attend school that day. However, if theres a math test following the bio test (maybe at 11pm) but your child isnt exempted from math, he needs to go to school maybe at 10.30am (in case late) to take the math test.
For full exemption: The school will plan activities for them. For year2 and above, they'll be going for some OELP organised by the school. Not sure about year 1 though

Hi nobodycares, thanks for the details. So during EOY, the students go home straight after exams?

For LA and HCL, term 1 = 10% , term 2/3 = 25%, term 4=40%
