What does your 11/12yr old boy do when he is at home?

My son plays the piano to de-stress. Otherwise it will be online chess and programming too. He uses Visual Basic and creates games, quizes and other applications for fun. He also messes around with his website and installs different scripts on the site to experiment. Some evenings I go to the condo pool with him before dinner.UncleLim:
sandunes, what programming language is your DS into ?
Actually I m clueless wrt computer programming. He is using VBA now as he can use Excel to do it without buying any external software. His teacher in school help hims when he finishes his work early in class.
if he wants to learn others like Java, BASC, does it mean we need to buy the software?
Sorry to go OT.
P/S: Sandunes you can get your DS to download Visual Basic Express free from Microsoft website. There are also various Java programming tools free I believe. And lots of tutorials online too. -

Thks UncleLim. I have chk with ds and he said he has already dl the Visual Basic. He is not using it right now as it can only be used on the Windows platform and he prefers to work on the iMac laptop. Meanwhile, I believe there are still a lot he can do on VBA. He is taking a break to prepare for Common tests this week.
Ds plays music too (abt 45 mins) daily but I don't think he sees that as a de-stressor. Practicing is hard work and he is not proficient enough to play whatever he wants. I see that in elder dd as she is able to play her favorite Korean music as and when she likes. I think staying in the toilet to read helps him de-stress more!

Mine either doing homework or assessments books for an hour or so. The rest of the time he plays with his gadgets or watching TV (cartoon
)
Sometimes when he is 'free' he would help to wash dishes or cook rice. -

Whatever spare time he has besides finishing up his schoolwork/assessment,
DS will
> do some goal kicking at wall or play table tennis with wall
> create his own lego figures/objects
> draw some weapons, coming out with some inventory and price list, point systems etc (think like those online war-games which I disallow him to use any real $ to purchase, so he imagine his own)
> play risk/monopoly alone
With no more maid, he will help me set table, sweep floor, fold clothes etc whenever i ask for help....
hmmm.....as I type this, I start to feel sad, think he is lonely........and I should just put down my things to play with him when he is still asking me to do so now..... suddenly, I'm glad he still has a younger sister to argue & fight with him. -

..yes you are right , must be with him when he still needs you..otherwise when he grows older it , you might not get a chance to 'play' with him anymore. It will be like what funx3 says They Prefers to Go Outings with their Frenz .... -
