      Hi autumbronze

I bought the tecno deep freezer that has shelves cos it makes sorting the milk easier. Although it is a 100+ liter fridge, it can't store as much as others of the same capacity cos of the shelves. But it really makes sorting out the dates a lot easier!! Especially when we do first in first out with our milk!
      Hi Robiq,

Thanks for your reply. Tecno seems to be quite a popular brand for mummies storing expressed milk.

Is this the model you are referring to???

May I ask where did you purchase yours and how much did you pay for it?? Also, how many pkts of milk can be stored at a time??

Nope the one I have is http://www.sgappliances.com/chest-freezer-upright-freezers-display-chillers/107-tff15-115-litres I am not sure exactly how many packets. But I think it should be between 70 to 90 packets of 150ml each. How much you store will depend on the bag you use and how flat you can freeze the bags so that they stack nicely. I find that the lansinoh bags freeze the flattest, but they break the easiest too if your bag gets hooked or poked by a corner or sharp edge!
I can't remember the price, but I got it at courts early this year. I am so glad i got a deep freezer. Now I don't have to be so worried about the expressed milk expiring!

You have been really helpful :hugs:

Will go down to courts and take a look.

Yup, for DS2, because I am expressing diligently, my milk pkts are taking up space in my refrigerator, so need to purchase a chest freezer soon. 😄

Ahh...after reading autumnbronze's post, it suddenly struck me  that dangle feeding was mummy hanging over baby! Haha! I'm a bit slow today!

                I'll try that later.
Haha yes, it's like what autumnbronze described. Let gravity help in clearing blockage. Hope it works for you.

                  Robiq:

On 3 occasions I had to used the needle on myself when I get a milk plug which is like a small piece of hard milk that clogs up the opening. I use the sterile needle to nudge out the plug.... And the milk will come gushing out.
The first time I had engorgement, I went to an lc, but I did not gino it helped much, later that evening, I saw the milk plug, and once I dug it out, I basically averted having mastitis! He lc had told me to go to gp to get antibiotics and to rest.... But the culprit was the milk plug which she did not manage to get out! Since than... I always had a sterile needle at hand! But you have to be very careful where you poke, have a steady hand and most of all, see the milk blister or plug before you even attempt to poke anything!!!
Now that i recall, i did this once myself too. Think was last year. I was in pain for quite a while until i cleared the plug. Looks like not all lc are gd, surprised your lc didnt spot the milk plug!

Ahh finally!! I got the plug out... It is amazing how something so small, the size of the head of a needle can cause so much discomfort! Now I can finally go to sleep after expressing out the rest of the milk!
