Just for info. The 2009 P6 Prelim papers for selected schools are out today (23 days before the 1st day of the written 2009 PSLE papers). Accordingly to people who might have bought these papers and their comments as mentioned in another blog, the details are :Actually, kelly1, the papers will be on-sale by those vendors of TOP school exam papers 1/2 weeks after the prelims, with enough time for last-min practice before THE PSLE. ie, assuming the children have run out of papers to practice... WOW!
That's what my son's form teacher did last year. She ordered the latest set for the class to practise before the PSLE.
(1) Schools like RGPS, NYPS, ACS(J/P), PLMGS, SHHK 5-School Combined, HP, CHS and SCGS.
(2) For Chinese, only 7 schools, without PLMGS. For CHS - Higher Chinese instead of Chinese.
(3) RGPS paper 2 is not included in the pack.
I think this paper 2 is probably for Maths.
Perhaps, parents or students who have already bought them can confirm on point (3) and add further details when appropriate.
:grphug:
RGPS - Raffles Girls' Primary School
NYPS - Nanyang Primary School
ACS(J/P) - Anglo-Chinese School (Junior/Primary)
PLMGS - Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' School (Primary)
SHHK 5-School Combined - Tao Nan/Ai Tong/Chongfu/Nan Chiau/Kong Hwa
HP - Henry Park
CHS - Catholic High School (Primary)
SCGS - Singapore Chinese Girls' School (Primary) -

Hi turquoise,Vanilla Cake, where would one get these papers?
You can get them to be delivered to your home by calling Jeremy @ 90216478, 98518226, 98518229, 93858586, 81631696. Otherwise, there are several stalls near MRT and shopping centres selling these 2009 top papers too.
Again based strictly on info from others in another blog, I got two more things:
(3) RGPS Prelim 2009 Maths paper 2 is not included in the pack. Don't ask me why.
(4) One of the stalls selling these 2009 top papers is in Toa Payoh Central, near the only one KFC, near MRT, near an Indian Bank and manages by an Auntie. Also two stalls selling these papers in Thomson Plaza.
Last year, I got the the 2008 Prelim papers through home delivery.
Thanks.

You shouldn't go and buy other school's papers cos it is not fair to the students of that school. What good will the students have if everyone gets their papers?Actually, kelly1, the papers will be on-sale by those vendors of TOP school exam papers 1/2 weeks after the prelims, with enough time for last-min practice before THE PSLE. ie, assuming the children have run out of papers to practice... But , do make sure your child PEAK at the right time and don't get 'burned out' in the process.
Because of this reason , some schools don't allow the students to get their paper home. It is unfair to the students of that school , just because of this act.

My daughter's school exchanged their prelim papers with RGS, SCGS, Henry Park, etc ... so my daughter did a lot of 2009 prelim papers from the other top schools during the period leading up to PSLE (they were given model answers as well). I thought this was a novel idea.Actually, kelly1, the papers will be on-sale by those vendors of TOP school exam papers 1/2 weeks after the prelims, with enough time for last-min practice before THE PSLE. ie, assuming the children have run out of papers to practice... Personally, i really disapprove of those vendors selling sch exam papers. The exam papers are the hard work of sch teachers who take great pains to set the questions. How can they make a profit out of it?? It is just like buying a pirated version of Microsoft software. Moreover, the so-called answer key provided by such vendors are not 100% accurate ( i dun think they r able to get the answer keys fr the schools). If yr child has a tutor who check the answer key b4 marking the paper, then ok, but if u hav not hired a tutor, then it would be most misleading to yr child, who might learn the wrong things. Recently, i marked my tuition kid's homework and realised that the one of the Comprehension answers was wrong, it was a result of misinterpreting the passage. That was from the pile of sch exam papers which her mum had bought for her.
Schools within the same cluster will often exchange papers, so dun hav to worry that yr PSLE child wont hav enough practice in sch. In fact, the prob is not a lack of practice papers, but TOO MUCH ! Stuffing yr kids with tons of exam papers can actually churn out undesirable consequences. It always sadden me when i hear of cases whereby Pri 6 students commit suicide cos they cannot tolerate the pressure on them.
