Can't comment about switching to a Methodist Church to get into MGS. That's the only methodist girls school so you'd probably in the running with the rest of the methodist church with daughters for that year.

As for SCGS, no other pref unless you join Tanjong Pagar GRC. The school doesn't even take in volunteers. Strictly NO, honest!

Marine Parade can't join Tanjong Pagar GRC unless you shift to a place where under TP GRC. Again GRC boundary may change so is best to evaluate your choice. Why not consider a Co-ed school where save your problem.

Marine Parade have Tao Nan School, you never give it a thought?

Er, I doubt it. I believe priority using alma mater status only applies to schools within the political boundaries of Singapore. Sorry.

Good try. I remember my husband said the same thing to me before, he is most probably from the same alma mater as you -Methodist Boys' School (primary) in PJ/KL :celebrate: . But I told him as far as priority for regn of P1 is concerned, it has to be old boy of that particular primary school that you are enrolling the child. Then he went on to say he can join the OBA as he was from ACJC..... hahaha... no choice, I told him he must have the report book from that particular primary school then can get priority under Phase 2A.

This is not the first time i heard this. Do you know the reason?

This make me wonder why do they bother to have a PV application form in their website. I even so KS to sign up 3 yrs in advance.

How to join Tanjong Pagar GRC? Do I have to move to somewhere within Tanjong Pagar GRC to qualify for Phase 2B? So are there any properties within 1km to SCGS within Tanjong Pagar GRC?

pls help. i understand earlier from a fren that you hv to be active in the Hokkien assoc before they would register the letter for enrollment to school. however now it seems to be based on years of tenure with them… seems like i am late. my child is born in 2005 and if i would join now… would i be in a good stead for school like chongfu pri based on past record
