I think all the IP schools has class size not more than 30/class

No leh, some got >30 per class. Don't know where the expensive fees go to... :skeptical: :moneyflies: If they charge so much, they should maintain all class sizes between 25-30 max.

      Hi

Suggest to go ACSI. 25 students per class and all class rooms are installed with air con. So your school fee sure worth it....
Good suggestion! Will put ACSI as one my ds choice for S1 posting...provided result permit :xedfingers:

Given NJC's more selective stance this year, getting a CO is not easy. Your son has tried his best. And you are a rare good dad to follow up so closely and accompany him for his DSA journey. :imanangel: So, give yourself a pat for being a supportive parent and move on. All the best to your DS PSLE! :rahrah: :xedfingers: To be fair to NJC, it could be a case whereby they have received many rejected COs in last few years and so has reviewed their selection process. After all their IP does not have a long history so they are still rightsizing the DSA COs and fine-tuning the process. The more established IPs had their fair share of teething problems at the start too. Don't forget your son's morale so do encourage him ... Add oil!

and worse, some after started to wear the grey uniform still decide to switch to white shirt with metal buttons plus khaki shorts

Emmmmm ... Really ... Who is he 😉

Finally received the NJC rejection letter.

Well at least there is a closure to the whole saga.
            Time to move on.
it seems that if the students have received an offer in either RI/HCI they will get rejection letter from NJC. THink they might have checked it out with the two schools tt's why take so long to reply.
One of my fren's son was rejected by HCI DSA but got NJC CO offer. After PSLE he still based on T-score to switch to HCI. However, for all his classmates who received HCI dsa offer, all got rejection letter from NJC after going thru the entire DSA phrases with NJC.

That doesn't seem fair to the students, especially those who would prefer NJC to HCI. I also think NJC wouldn't sell themselves short like this. If they really want a student they should just make him an offer and leave it to him to decide if he wants NJC or HCI, rather than reject him because they assume he'll take up HCI rather than NJC.

And why would RI or HCI bother to oblige NJC? And then are we also saying NJC could've checked with other schools like NUSH and ACSI and DHS and RVHS? Some students who applied to NJC did not apply to RI or HCI at all. futhermore, in the DSA application form to NJC, it does not ask for \"what other schools are you applying DSA for\", so wouldn't NJC be like doing many searches in vain? Neither does NJC's application form ask for grades on the form. NJC also does not ask for any supporting documents until they have already shortlisted. Which means they shortlist based on teh HAST test or, possibly as one parent suggested - including the personal statement submitted on the application form.

And is taking 2 weeks from the time of the interview to give out COs considered very long? I've got no comment on the ridiculously long time they took to send out rejection letters though. I heard that even HCI didn't bother to send out any rejection letters other than through email (is that according to procedure as well? I thot all must be formally informed).

This is very interesting. If NJC makes DSA offers independently, it is hard to imagine that their selection criteria being so different from other schools. If this speculation is true, it is also very surprising in that:
                    1. the schools share their DSA offer namelist with other schools?
                    2. NJC assumes that all good students would choose another IP school over itself?

It is really hard to believe.

Last year, my ds' classmates receive HCI CO, WL and Rejection letters on the same day.
