      Little M:
      sleepy:

My dd passed her first bronze test this week.

Well done to your dd. DS passed also. Some kids actually hyperventilated during the part where they take out the pjs and make the pants into balloons. I praised DS for keeping his cool thru out the test. But he was nervous b4 the test, he went to the toilet like 3 times in 20mins.

I thought they should have had loads of practice beforehand? I recall my swimming instructor making us practice non-stop before the actual test! & when it came to the real test, it was a breeze!

Well, of course, I am always very anxious for my kids to excel in anything and I also understand how it feels.

Every parent wants the best for his/her child. Although we all might not admit it, there is a certain feeling that cannot be put to words when your kid achieves something big.

sigh.......I am not only getting stressed over with ds exams/tests, i even got stressed when ds started his P1 life early this year. I couldn't get a good sleep the niote before school. Over anxious!!!! Worst still when he had his SA1, no CA1 for the first semestral, before, during and even after his exams, i was dead worried. I dun deny I did had a POST EXAM FEVER very badly. I even dreamt of exam paer, only if i could have seen the question, before his Maths paper. At that moment, think that i really overdo liao. Things turn out to be better during his CA2, which was over. At least, i can sleep better, no weird dreams.....Not very satisfied with his results cos mostly are careless mistakes, \"confiscate\" his computer time as a punishment for this period of time. Last 2 weeks had been sourcing for past year paper from various school for him to practise. Let's pray hard this coming SA dun be as stressed as the previous...... 🙏

Whereas during his taekwando grading, i dun feel any kind of stress. Think i am only deadly worried in his academic performance....

I think we worry no matter what…it is just a question of how much…

I have exam phobia since school days…whether it’s big or small exams. During my uni days, I don’t sleep for 5 days straight until my exams ends and the crashed out for 2 days straight. I know it’s crazy but I have like I said…exam phobia.

Now it has transferred to my kids, I will suffer anxiety from swimming test, stage performances, even show and tell in cLass… not to mention exams. So as I am conscious of this "condition" of mine, I try to relax and meditate during those times…make conscious effort not to stress the kids with my anxiety.

So far, it’s been ok. I find that my kids are not really affected by me. BUt I have to suffer in silence!

Wow... I'm the opposite. No matter how prepared I am, I sleep very early before exams. I don't do well in exams without sleep. So I have to prepare very early for exams just so I can sleep in peace before exams 🙂

I’m not stress out by my kids exam. Not yet since they are not sitting for any big exam papers. Maybe when PSLE looms nearer, the anxiety will bite me too.

If they sit for competition, I am not stress either. By the time the competition day arrive, I more or less can gauge what their level of competency. If they put on good effort, I feel comfortable but if they are not serious, I feel sorry for them for being so ill prepared. But, they got to learn from their mistake as I have done my part by voicing out opinion and feedback. The choice is theirs to make.

So far so good, thank God, no stress.

                  Only stressed about trivias like
                  where to park?
                  where to eat?
                  where to rest?
                  is toilet clean?
and being late…touchwood so far never happen before.

And totally afraid of Murphy’s Law which is still classified under trivias.

I have been late in fetching the kids before. Boy, can ds blow up. His face turns all red & I thought I saw smoke coming out at the top of his head. When given that look, I sure :scared: Very stress when trying to beat the traffic just to be on time.

Get very stress during my children exam period. Today read about a P5, 11 yrs old boy jumped down from his flat after the oral exam. I am so worried for my P3 son. He seems to be something wrong somewhere but I don’t know what’s wrong. He is in P3, he scored 78 for science and 84 for maths in his mock exam and his teacher emailed to me and said that he don’t seems to be doing well in his exam and he is not motivated to work hard. When I checked with him, he know the ans but he just don’t feel like doing his best and some ans are blank. He is in the top class in school so they are being push very hard to score band 1 or 2. I am so worried that he was being stress and do not know he can cope with it. I rather have a stupid child than loss my child.
