But all the kids are happier and no kids crying or breakdown after the paper. Isn't this a better scenario? I really sympathise with kids who felt so stressed with difficult PSLE paper......afterall they are only 12 and why need to go thru' such agony.....

Maybe u r right .. But I believe that there r pros n cons and I always remind my ds must prepare for the worst 人要在逆行中才能成长 。俗语说:吃得苦中苦,方为人上人。
It's healthy to have the majority of the PSLE cohort to do well than having a handful of PSLE top scorers as most of the PSLE students did badly due to difficult PSLE papers.

But if the psle paper is not hard, then how will we be able to distinguish whether that student is suitable for ip schools? Well, if the psle paper is easy, then there will not be a need for ip schools in Singapore. This is my personal thinking.

think they r stressed coz their parents have high expectation.

like in the recent gep screening test. some broke down after the test coz did not even do x no. of qns. my girl saw it in a diff light, ie, since many did not finish it, then it's normal!!!

Too high . As long as we let them know that they are good as long as they have done their best. This will reduce their stress . :rahrah: jiayous xD

                    Vanilla Cake:

Have browsed through the Nanyang and Rosyth papers and noted that the Nanyang's Maths and Science papers plus Rosyth's Science papers are \"killers\". :gloomy: :slapshead: :stupid:
Yup DS just did the Nan Yang math paper and it's tough.
Too bad he has done the Rosyth math and English paper in school already.

Not going to touch the science and chinese papers until Friday.

                      Hi Pen88n,
No, she hasn't started on this paper yet. But I will try to \"push\" her to work on it by tonight if possible.

Just bought another set of 2011 P6 Prelim papers (EL/CL/MA/SC) for Nanyang Pri Sch and Rosyth Sch @ $10. Have you bought them?

Nanyang 2011 P6 Prelim English Q12 - You are correct and answer should be 4. Accordingly to answer key provided by Jeremy for the 2011 Nanyang P6 Prelim English, some of her answers are different:

                      Q19. Answer given is 3
                      Q22. Answer given is 3
                      Q51. Answer given is \"heal\"
                      Q52. Answer given is \"any\"
                      Q56. Answer given is \"avoid\"
                      Q57. Answer given is \"on\"
                      Q60. Answer given is \"encourage\"

Could you pls help to relook at these questions? BTW, I have posted Q19 and Q22 in the thread - \"Q&A PSLE English\".
Thks for your time and effort. Much appreciated.
Q52 can't be any since the word behind is prescriptions.
