Two days ago ds initated an interesting conversation with me which went like this.

DS: Why do you give nai-nai money? (I always ask ds to pass the allowance to my mum)

Me: Because I'm a good son. (implicit meaning - you better be like me)

After a few moments deep in thought ....

DS: When you're old, you'll depend on me you know. (Is this a threat? Machiam I'll decide which old folks' home you go to, so better be nice to me)

      Me: Huh?

DS: Just like now I'm depending on you. (That's more like it, gratitude son, don't you forget it)

      After another pause ....

DS: You better make sure I do well next time or you'll have no food to eat when you're old.

      Me: Huh? 🤷

That's when I quickly brought out all the assessments for him to do. Better make sure he do well mah!

Don't want to end up starving when I'm old. :slapshead:

my 3 year old asks me every morning "where am I going today?" and I’ll reply "You’re going to school today".

One day after I replied, he said "I can’t go to school everyday. Sometimes I need to go somewhere nice !"

DS: Mom... I scored XX marks for English and I think it was a high mark.

Me: Really? How do you know it is high?

                DS: I asked my friends.

Me: You're an introvert. You dun have many friends... or so you said. So maybe those few you hang out with are all tooty.

DS: Mom... when I say friends nowadays, I mean a far wider network of acquaintances. In fact it is only in the far depths of the FEMALE EMPIRE that I cannot reach.
:rotflmao: gosh your ds speaketh machiam like star wars dialogue.. very poetic kekekeke..

We were having Japanese for lunch.

After my 4 yr old finished his meal, I asked him ....

                  Me: are you full?

DS: mum, I am not a fool!

                  Me: :faint:
