cannot wait until older. I read somewhere that a little girl reaches half of adult height by the time she hits 2 year-old or something.

Is this applicable to boys too? My kids' heights at 2 years old are:

      Ds1 : 85cm (est. adult height 1.7m)
      Dd : 86.5cm (1.73m)
      Ds2 : already >90cm at 22 months (>1.8m  )

        2 yr old only ??
i think u prob wanna to wait till yr child is older before deciding whether yr chid needs to grow taller or not.

btw, some childen are allergic to peanuts.....be aware of that.

I make a beef dish once per week. It's paying off a bit. She is now 78cm or so. That'll mean ard 156cm.

thks for reminder. haven't bought peanut plant cos I keep forgetting. hv to give it a go.

My hope for her is just 30-40 percentile cos we're no giants.

as for me,i am more concern when they reach puberty,
i see boys and girls \"shoot up suddenly\" during their teens when exercise.

btw, u mentioned beef dish ......may i know what is that?? for growing tall ??

I'm curious too. Is it beef stew? Or some special formula/recipe to grow tall? πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ I need it for my DD too. πŸ˜‰

haha, no special recipe. it's my own theory. I figured Amercian-born Chinese who had small-sized immigrant parents, can become taller in one generation. There must be something in the diet. Americans like burgers and Aussies love barbeque and beef stuff. Northern Chinese are also taller than southerners. They have higher intake of red meat due to cold & harsh weather.

I just buy good quality beef & make beef stew, pasta, etc for my girl abt once or twice per week. Beef has a lot of iron and proteins for growth. I think a predominantly fish diet is healthy but can't help my baby to grow taller.

Though she has grown quite a bit lately but she is still near bottom 10 percentile in height.

can only πŸ™ and feed more nutritious stuff

Hi KSPs so any update on the heights ever since your kids took the peanuts plant soup? Would think that it depends on the stage of development your kid is in. For DDs I read that peak height gain eg +>10cm is attained within 1 year before onset of mensus. After that, depending on when the mensus come. If come very early eg p4/beginning of p5 can still grow up to another 10cm. If come later eg sec 1-2, can grow another 2 inches only. Height gain after onset of mensus slows down and roughly stopped at end of 2 years after mensus. Thereafter no growth or max 1-2cm. Correct me if wrong. Don't know about boys. Please share with us with young DSs. So far gathering from surrounding ppl, effective remedies are peanut plant soup, tian qi soup, sleep, eat well, exercise esp swimming and basketball etc. Anyone actually tried hormone growth jabs can share? Earlier parts of thread said got side effects :yikes: Please share first hand experience of DD/DS if any :please:

My daughter is on the growth hormone jab for 6 mths till now. She did increase her height by 2 cm during the 1st 2 mths and nothing happen after that…zzzz…It is a very expensive treatment about $700-$1000 per mth. The most heartache part is that I find it very difficult to handle that stupid device used to jab her. Most of the time, the growth hormone don’t seem to get into her body. I am considering stopping this treatment because money spent yet no result!

Heard Ma Kuang has the treatment for this height growing during puberty, anyone tried this??

My kid's Pediatrician says \"sleeping a lot when young helps to boost height\" ... do not know about teenages.

                  My child has hope!!!!! πŸ™
She sleeps like a PIG, favourite past time!!! :rotflmao:

Sheling thanks for sharing πŸ˜„ Can you share roughly how old is your DD when she started the jab and why do you consider this jab option? Any side effects so far? As for Ma Kuang, it should be prescribing some Chinese herbs and if you read earlier pages some do vouch for Chinese herbs for height growth.

My DD is 11 this year. She started her menses end of last year. Since doctors said girls will not grow too much after they had their menses and she was only 142cm at that time, no choice have to put her on the jab. So far, no side effect on her. According to my doctor, there won't be any side effect and is safe as long as is a prescription from doctor. As for me, I am getting uncomfortable with this because the amount spent doesn't justify the result.

                        Hi Sheling,

Did the doctor say how long it will take for you to see results?
