I have a great story to share for those that have issues with your in-laws.

my hubby and i have been married for 6 years and i am really really really glad that i have mu mil and fil.

they were they best peace maker when i had a fight with my hubby. they were the best playmate and 'partime maid' for my baby when i have to go back work.

few years back, before i was having the baby, i had a lot of fights with my hubby. both of us kind of work late and we very much lived our own lives apart from the home.

we dread going home, it was always empty and the only thing that is great about the house is that it is dead quiet. we kind of drifted apart for a while. but that time, my mil was always sms me to be this to be that. at first i would just reply for the sake of replying, my relationship with my mil were not that great then...

but when the relationship between me and my hubby got so bad that we started to have fights every now and then, my mil spoke to me. she was really nice, offering to help in so many aspect, she spoke to my hubby too. oh my hubby was really some stubborn freak from mars!!

things got better, he came home one day with flowers and everything.. we sat down and basically started the whole relationship all over again.

looking back, that was all because of my mil. she showed me the way to be a wife and she made my hubby understand what it takes to be a husband. if we did not see the importance of the roles, we might have just D****** then...

after i was pregnant, my in-laws basically became my 'part time maid' =P
seriously!! my mil would be at my place on the dot every weekend morning, sometimes we have our own program or we have to work, they would just clean up the home and prepare food and leave it in plastic containers.

but i think this is not just luck that i have such a wonderful pair of in laws. it takes time to slowly know them and understand them, in-laws are 'strangers' at first, but through problems and bonding that we finally see them as family šŸ™‚

You are one lucky woman !!! Having a mil who doesn't blindly defend her son and the best part is teaching him how to be a husband.

wongsansan, your MIL is really one of the rare few who are impartial and who really cares about their daughters in law. Well, at least my bad experience with my mil will hopefully teach me how to treat my own dil in the future.

What do you get when you rearrange the letters in 'MOTHER IN LAW'?

            Ans: ' WOMAN HITLER'.
( Only applicable for some mil, there are still some nice mil around) šŸ˜„

Haha, that is a good one. But only strictly applicable to some mil, mine is almost

one. On her good days, she is just cranky but on her bad..she can be :yikes:

                  Live update...... šŸ˜‰

Today gotta do some ritual for FIL & MIL insist on cooking instead of buying (actually she's trying to cook together for dinner tonight & want her sons to eat). She woke up 5+, went back to sleep & only up 45mins later, so end up rushing. Started losing her patience, yak&nag over everything & yell & blame DH for not waking her earlier & alarm malfunction. Think she got onto his nerves as he retorted cos first she did not give any instruction, secondly, insist on using her sometimes faulty alarm clock. Yet when got issue, blame us. NOW tension.

DH pissed Liao & can see MIL slowly trying to change tact saying things to pacify him cos DH usually quite patient with her. Hee hee  I'm gloating on the side šŸ˜‰ The sons must feel our pain

Aiyah, now that DH stomach is filled, he cooled down Liao. šŸ˜‰

There is a statement from ancient peoples describing the relationship between MIL n DIL - wife and concubine. This is where I heard from my mum. Maybe quite true.

Recently MIL stopped checking on me. SIL gave birth to a boy and she is always visiting them. Poor SIL, she has to cope with new baby and interference from MIL. When my third was born, I could hardly sleep, not because of the baby but because MIL gave me so much headache from her complains and her demanding that I do this and that for the baby.

You are saved from all disturbances...it's about time she diverts her attention else where...maybe your brother-in-law has a way with her  I can imagine if mine was around then...sure to get depression...can't help but add on additional headaches :stupid:
