Anglo-Chinese School (Junior)

My son hasn’t had much luck with the teachers there… let me tell you what we have experienced this year.
1) This strange teacher orders the class to switch off all the lights and place their heads on the tables while waiting for the next teacher to appear. You know what? On certain occasions the waiting time is so long that some kids have a real good nap.
2) We requested for one booklet as our son misplaced his ( for the first time this year) this is what the teacher emailed us:
The oral book is given to the boys at the beginning of the year. Each boy is only entitled to one. I have a few boys told me that they have misplaced the book. I have asked them to look for it first and some of them found it. For those who could not find it, I have lent them my book to photocopy. Please try to look for it first. If you cannot find it, do let me know and I will lend my copy and you can photocopy during the weekend. Thank you for your understanding.
<I cannot understand why the teacher doesn’t even keep spare copies of it! I mean does the teacher expect all 7 year olds NEVER to lose their stuff? >
3) Another boy in the same class told his mother that the teacher was not able to teach the higher order thinking skills for math. Initially, I thought her son was just being cheeky… until mine told me the same!
4) My husband and I were so shocked to receive a flyer requesting for us parents to donate money to fund the Teacher’s Day luncheon!
There are just too many incidences through out the year to list… Another colleague of mine who is also a teacher simply said that it just gives such a bad impression of the school especially if you are in the school for the first time. -
if father last time was from ACS Secondary, but primary not from ACS primary Junior - can qualify under phase 2A ?

Nope, coz they are different schools (unlike MGS which is a full-school). The father has to have studied at ACS (Junior). -
Thanks sugarbunny for the info that you've shared:-)
I've since called up the school, talked to ACPS as well as the bus contacts and student care (MCYC) at ACPS to find out further details.
Yes, the bugbear is transport issue - the latest time the ACJS bus can possibly try to accomodate my request is to pick up at 4.30pm not 6pm or 6.30pm when the student care closes. I'm a FTWM and we stay in the East. So Kiddiewinkie can't work for my DS...This is gonna be a tough one to overcome -
Hi Osakachan,
How do you get to the place itself? I've tried driving there a few times before but there didn't seem to be a place for cars to enter or park
Maybe I'm just such a greenhornosakachan:
They use past year paper for assessment. However you have to pay for the paper.windie:
Oh kiddie Winkie? Do they really help w homework?
Normally they will check with the kids if they have homework from school.
Visit the place and find out more about them. -
Hi Koolmama
Kiddie Winkie is situated within the CC. The entrance is at the small road (Anthony Road). You cannot park at the kerb on the main road (clemenceau Ave), it is meant for Fire Engine vehicle. The gate is always closed so you have press button and inform the security that you are visiting Kiddie Winkie so that they will let you in. I think they have to do this as there are very limited car park lots. -
oic, thanks!!
In that case, if I am driving, where should I park?osakachan:
