There's another form you'll need to fill in (like those typical MCQ exam paper where you shade the answers). Not sure if it's from the school or MOE but does look like it's for statistic purposes. They even ask about parents' educational level  -

You mean you had to fill in the form during P1 registration? :scratchhead: -
qms,
Yes. In addition to the form that Forevernikon posted above, there’s another yellow (if my memory didn’t fail me ;p) form that asked for parents’ contact details, address etc. But not sure if it’s just for SCGS or all primary school, maybe those who has gone for P1 registration this year can advise? -

Which phase was your child in when you registered at SCGS?qms,

The form that you mentioned is for parents whose children have successfully registered with the school to fill in. Information within the database is meant to help MOE populate its database. -
Thanks Floyap / qms
for your replies. It is therefore true that there is a supp form to be completed (for SCGS P1 registration). We wonder if this will be a std form used for all other Primary school? -
We also wanted to clarify if this supp form will have a column to declare if your current residential address is rental or own?
If there is, will it affect our balloting chances in the end?
We are deeply concerned as we are seriously considering to move within 1km to SCGS (obviously for Y2012 P1 registration purpose) but do not want to be sidelined in case we are only considering rental basis.
TIA -
why not you call up the school you’re interested in directly or write in to ask - confirm if by filling up this part / section, will rental parents be sidelined & priority thus given to residential parents, in the event of over subscription during balloting? Ask the school explicity - what they going to do with the information disclosed ?
if the answer is No - but just to gather & collect statistics for the next 3 to 5 years before school or MOE plan next step, meantime all are given same equal priority, then at least you feel relieved!
but if the answer is Yes, even though the truth hurts, then need to think of alternative. -

My girl was in phase 2C and we filled the form during registration i.e. before we knew if we were successful.

I doubt you’ll be sidelined just because you rent a place near the school because the process is transparent. Basically, you will be categorised according to your home distant i.e. within 1km, 1-2km or outside 2km (regardless of renting or owning). In the event, there is balloting say within 1km, you’ll automatically qualify. The balloting process is transparent (Singaporean will get 2 slips and PR 1) and you are allowed to witness the entire process. I don’t think it is possible for the person drawing the lots to differentiate between renting and owing cos it’s not indicated on the balloting slip e.g. use different colour slip) right? I believe the purpose of the supp form is more for MOE analysis purposes? -
Thanks phtthp,
We did asked the school SCGS but was not given a very clear answer. They will only say that address in NRIC will be accounted for.
In case answer is YES, then we would have no option but to really seriously consider investing in a unit within 1km from SCGS as our home there. -
Thanks floyap
Your answer really clear our doubt
