Can you help to explain when do we use a or an? For example, why is it a electrician and not an electrician? and an election and not a election?

If the first one was an accurate S&T answer, the question given would be a little tweaked to look like this \"\"I will be leaving for London tomorrow morning,\" Shermaine told her mother.\"

Hmmm... both look correct.... lemme think.....

I'm guessing that \"took\" is the correct answer as \"was taking\" implies that the action of taking him has not yet been completed. However, it is. Thus, \"took\" is the more apt answer...

My take on this is \"was taking\".

Sean's action of taking his little brother for a stroll was not completed yet when it was interrupted by another action - him seeing a cat on a tree.
