so sad to hear this child saying such things to reporters like that.

his parents must be grieved inside, to hear the son say such thing …

i pity this child who lost his childhood and innocence. maybe the parents have good intention but use the wrong methods. both parties are losers.

He could be harbouring resentment towards his parents. Seems like his parents pressurized him a lot. So maybe he expected rewards for his hard work.

I vaguely recall a similar incident of a Taiwanese boy who sued his parents for not having taught him the proper values since young.

Which article? The Taiwanese who sue parents or the one who stabbed his mom? I either watched from fenghuang news or TVBS news. Can try either sites for old articles if you can read chinese - ifeng.com

some years back I read an article about a local mother who withdrew her son from an elite school because he was getting more haolian and disrespectful to her.

                      OT:

Was waiting for bus, saw a boy from CHS (yes, must post school name), then ds2 was just looking at him curiously. Immediately, he stare back at ds2 and said, ‘WHAT!!’ VERY LOUDLY. As if want to provoke a fight.

His domestic helper was embarrassed and quickly said, ‘eh’ softly, meaning to tell him not to say that.

Good sch doesn’t mean good behaviour. Good education doesn’t mean good value. Learnt something today again. Haha.

Good manners and good breeding begin at home. People who think that being in a school will help raise a well-mannered child are sadly mistaken.
