      LOLMum:
i am sure parents in spore do have similar requests from their kids or made such promises to their kids.

probably the rich parents here dangle a car as a carrot for their kids to do well at A level (happened to one classmate of mine during JC) and a condo at U level

On the other hand can anyone see many of our children be able to
fair any better without help from us in these competitive and
high inflation day and age ........
seem like many KSP parents may not expect their children to
look after them but instead it the other way round to get them started

        its a catch 22 .... 🦆

Having said that dangling any of the carrots for results
it's does not help in character building no matter how much
we love them , what kind of generations and generations we want
to create in the future is really in many parents hand :hi5:

so sad to hear this child saying such things to reporters like that.

his parents must be grieved inside, to hear the son say such thing …

i pity this child who lost his childhood and innocence. maybe the parents have good intention but use the wrong methods. both parties are losers.

he grow up not knowing what is the meaning of learn to honor your parents, respect your parents. :slapshead:

today, his definition of success means owning a big house, having lots of $.

He could be harbouring resentment towards his parents. Seems like his parents pressurized him a lot. So maybe he expected rewards for his hard work.

I vaguely recall a similar incident of a Taiwanese boy who sued his parents for not having taught him the proper values since young.

Which article? The Taiwanese who sue parents or the one who stabbed his mom? I either watched from fenghuang news or TVBS news. Can try either sites for old articles if you can read chinese - ifeng.com
