My DS is exempetd from MT. Does anyone know how are T-scores affected if he has only 3 subjects ? Any idea if he would be \"advantaged\" or \"disadvantaged\" ? Thanks!!

Don't know exactly how PSLE scores are calculated with MT exemption BUT all my friends' kids who were exempted from MT did far better than expectations.

it depends that average 92% is from which school? some schools' marks are a consistent gauge of t-score performance every year. for example, if you attend the NYPS briefing at the end of Pri 5, you are usually told that the average increase in t-score from prelim to actual is ranged from 10 to 60, depends on individual's consistency as well

also, 92% for each subject does not translate into same t-score for each subject which is dependent on the mean and the SD of each subject each year

last year's prelims was 25x - 26x

I suspect those schools with GEP classes will face such range of T-scores for prelims as the addition of the \"top 1%\" will skew the Mean and SD of the entire school cohort, esp. since the GEPpers account for a reasonably high % within the small school cohort (compared with national cohort).

I think other then the higher scores of geppers … Usually the top few classes of students of these Gep holding schools, also can score pretty well …

Totally agree. That's exactly the case in DD's school.
