I heard that the school imposed this clause so that they will not disappoint parents who spend the time and effort to volunteer. Compared to some 'elite' schools that take in PVs even though they know that the balloting crowd will be big and chances lower, I think what SNGS is doing is good. Always think those schools that take in large numbers of PVs without proper control make PVs 'bai zuo gong'.

I was from St Nick's and has also joined the school alumni. My girl is born in 2007. Should I still be a parent volunteer? How high are the chances to get her in for P1?

no need to volunteer. your girl will register under 2A1 (for those who joined alumni association), or 2A2 (for alumni who din join assc), no balloting required.

I think I read somewhere that the current P will be posted to Bukit Panjang Govt High School. New P will be an old girl (previously 'O' lvl top scorer, I think).

My dd was feeling sad as she really liked the current P....

To be honest, I was quite surprised with the change in P, since there seems to be much gg on in St Nic next year: moving back to old premises, etc...
