Agreed, Chenonceau. I insisted in not asking my MIL to look after my kid when they were young, and rather put them with my nanny friend and cared for them myself after work. It was hard work, but a lot of conflict was avoided and I would not \"owe\" MIL a \"favor\" that she could harp on for ages to come.

My MIL is a very clever woman and she is still very \"sour\" about this arrangement, but she cannot exert her control in this case due to my exclusion of her running my household. Better to keep it this way for me.

I didn't allow her to control how I want things done. Accepting her help is as good as owing her a big favor. No thanks. I rather do things my way, as and when I feel like. My hubby knows I am fussy where housework is concerned. I don't want her to boss me around, in my own place. Most importantly, don't want her to know what I have in my place. Not that I have gold bars lying around :rotflmao:
