2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take

I need help. Will you register your 2 children, one in ACS and one in SCGS which is less than 1 km from your current house under 2C or will you register your children to co-ad GEP school in tampines under phase 2B but far outside 2C? I understand both need to go through balloting. Next, will you separate your children to different school or putting them together? What is the chances of getting in ACS and SCGS <1km under phase 2C? What to do with the given phase 2B? I am really stressed.
I always believe in \"getting into the earlier phase\" first if possible, unless distance is really a deterrent.
No one can predict this year's statistics for any of the schools, whether it be 2B phase or 2C phase. So, might as well register for 2B phase, go thru' ballot, and if you get it, then wait for 2C to see statistics before deciding if you want to give up the 2B seat to take another chance to ballot for 2C. If did not get for 2B, well just have to register for 2C. -

those who are caught unaware and intend to register son in ACS 6 months later for P1 2013 (or P1 2014 intake) but with less than 2 years rental may wish to call up school to verify if true, determine if it's going to impact you (if any), under which affected phase (2B or 2C) or citizenship.

Yup... I also rem Tis rule. Thus Tis won't be useful for her since not TOP[/quote]yup if you can hv the document proof that the hse can TOP before the kid finished P2, you can use the new addy for registration.
according to MOE's website, (as stated above too)jedamum:

hi,
would like to ask did u confirm if ur address is consider as 1km? from my knowledge, if the place is not TOP yet, it will only be consider as more than 1km & less than 2km category.
MOE/School allows to use the new addy for registration, as long as u can proof the TOP will be within 2yrs from the kids start P1.
http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/faqs/#proximity
there is no restriction that if the place not TOP, it will be considered as more than 1km & less than 2km category.
unless this is the new ruling.
The MOE ctm svr said, some schools are more rigid, hence it will be best to bring along the original copy to show them, some school reject photocopied. -

What happen if Phase 2B and 2C are out? I studied the recent balloting results and it showed high risk for ACS, SCGS and SHP.zakashi:

If both phase 2b and 2c are not successful, then you need to apply again for 2C supp. You will need to find another school as there wonβt be any more seats left in your earlier school of choice.
If balloting is required at Phase 2C Supp, then the rules of proximity to the school apply again. If unsuccessful at Phase 2C Supp, the parents will have to apply again at Phase 3, which is open to everybody, including foreigners. Only upon failure at this phase will MOE assign the child a school.
So have a REASONABLE plan and strategy. -

This is not true. As long as the address on your ic reflects the residence that you are living in, it qualifies for registration. Unless you are buying a project near the school and plans to use that address then you have to ensure that it TOPS before the end of primary two.parents renting houses & applying for ACS primary, minimum 2 yrs rental required :-

best is to call school and ask for more information. receptionist might not be the best person to answer your questions, ask to speak to the person who handles the primary 1 registration matters.

From what I understand, if you fail to get a place after phase 2CS, you will be given a form to indicate 3 choices of schools (of course, you can only choose 3 that still have vacancies after 2CS).
MOE will then assign your child to a school (not sure whether it will definitely be one of your 3 choices).
You will only need to take part in phase 3 if you are unhappy with the school assigned to your child. -

Correct me if I am wrong, I am under the impression that one has to stay for six years if the registered address is a leased one?parents renting houses & applying for ACS primary, minimum 2 yrs rental required :-
