Would think if all in class are so good, your kid can't shine and can't get as high marks for presentation, projects, assignments etc. This affects marks and he may not meet some important DSA criteria etc min 80% for exemption of GAT etc etc. And, so far from other KSPs in DSA thread, seems tt during DSA, kids are ranked by results down to decimal :nailbite: Also, too many ultra shiny classmates, lower chance to be chosen for leadership (prefect, monitor etc) positions or special activity

Yes, that's my thoughts exactly. and not just that, all the competitions/CCAs will be taken up by the shiniest students, so those \"average\" GEPers might miss out, which might rob them of valuable experience.
There might be \"invisible\" pressure to keep up too, will too many bright kids in the class.
Anyone with GEPers in NY ?
I believed this kind of cases not only happened in NY but other GEP schools too...Of course the school will select the best of the best for competitions or being a role model in the school....so I think as long as they are able to cope in their GE programme then they are bright and gifted enough..hehe :imcool:
emmm..if you guys are talking about Maths olympaids, all geppers will have the opportunity to participate..but for Science olympaid, the teacher will choose the better students.. -

So that means really there is a risk, if can't get allocation in NY, then if those put NH as 1st choice all been allocated, no more vacancy in NH, we will then be put in other school?
I don't know if that's the case. If you really want NYPS, then put it down as first choice with your supporting statements. And if you don't get into NH either, appeal. -

... That was how I felt but I just couldn't put my thots into words, clearly & effectively... You always have a way of putting your (our) thots across, clearly & effectively, yet subtlety & politely...
