      Scary:

My DS's violin teacher recommended DS to skip grade 1. I just ok ok since he's the teacher, should know DS more than me when it comes to this.

Scary, did his teacher say why skip Grade 1? Just curious...

The violin teacher is quite demanding and has been preparing DS for a higher level, perfecting him in every single note. According to him, from what DS has attained, he is actually more suitable to take Grade 2 (IF AND ONLY IF HE HAS CONSTANT PRACTICE!)

Btw, the piano teacher told us he is ready to start practising for his grade 1 exam :rahrah: after undergoing 7 mths of learning. I dunno if this is considered the norm or already slow but I am very happy with his progress.

        That's remarkable to me!
If my DD could practice playing her instruments on her own, without us telling her, it'll be like bonus to me.
And if she could eventually play 1 hr everyday, I would feel like striking lottery!

DS will only pick up his violin under constant reminder or nagging. Every 5 mins he will ask me,\"Mummy, how long more?\" :stupid:

I asked him whether sharing here will be considered as boasting? His exact reply was, \"It's ok to share. I'm proud to get the IDEAL award, but it's a good kind of proud.\" So as instructed ...... 😄

Well done. Pin up the badges somewhere. Good encouragement and reminders for the kid. My dd's ones will serve as momentos now.

All the best. Remember to come back often to share the experiences. Mark will certainly be among the most attentive audience 😄[/quote]Thank you, Jennifer. 😄

For all the 2012 P1 parents going for the orientation tomorrow, very exciting isn’t it? Especially if it’s for your eldest kid.

Got a couple of questions to ask.

Since P1 enblocs to P2, do the Ts follow suit too? I heard rumours that they don’t but just want to confirm.

Is there subject banding for P2 HCL with the first x classes having moxie?

                Mark, based on this yr:

                1. The teachers follow suit.
                2. Yes, there is banding for HCL in P2.

Yes drickymummy is right. Alternatively, you may want to enquire with the school on the transfer procedures, how long the waiting list will be and most importantly, submit your application for transfer form. You may want to speak to the Vice-Principal if the P is not available.

By the way, which level will your son be in next year?
