Actually never really know what is the practice for prize-winning day....as my girl never gets to go

For prize winner (p2) - Is it only the RGPS girl selected for each of the 10 classes, plus the level tops? Are prizes awarded for the subject level tops etc?

Today on my way to school to pick mygal, I saw girls hugging the bear walking out of school. Every bear is different and unique. Oh how lovely... Feel like calling the school can I have one??? Haha

              hi mwchua
thought i could clarify for you. im a P6 student in RGPS.

RGPS girl is selected for each of the 10 classes and there is also a best progress award 1 per class. that is for the girl who improves the most from her sa1 score to sa2. the top 5 of the level will be awarded a prize each. subject level tops only come in in the upper primary years. and in upper primary there is also sac award for 1 girl in the whole level as well as principal's award for a p6 girl. the top 5 psle scorers of the previous years are also invited back to the school to be given prizes.

Thanks so much for your insight πŸ™‚ Just 1 other question: from p3 onwards, is there re-shuffling of classes based on results on a yearly basis?

I am sure you are now having a good time after 6 years of hard work, so many of us are curious on the bear souvenirs that all P6 girls receive, would you be able to post a picture here? πŸ™‚ All the best to your PSLE result too :rahrah:

Now I finally understand the basis of prize giving - Each class minumum 2 (RGPS girl & most improved award). No class level prizes which is unlike the practice adopted by some other schools.

During the PTM meeting, the teacher was also not very willing to reveal how individual student fared relatives to peers, just some generic statement like \"above-average\" etc which is not very informative....

I know for sure that the first reshuffling is at the end of p3. however, the current principal recently changed the system and since i am in gep which is not subject to the schools' reshuffling arrangements, i am not so sure about the subsequent years for your dd's batch.

the teachers in rgps generally do not like to give any indication of pupils' ranking as they don't want comparisons among pupils or upset pupils due to poor rankings so most of the time you just have to go around comparing to as many people as possible (outside your class) to know where you stand in the level.

There are only 2 reshuffling for RGPS girls. The 1st is after P3 SA2 exam, the another is after P4 SA2 exam.
