Raffles Girls' Primary

My dd got the teddy bear in her year too. I thought it was a thoughtful memento too, especially with all the autographs. I happened to be near the school during dismissal and saw all the P6ers with their bears. So sweet. My dd and I were wondering what other gifts the P6ers received this year from school. Did they go on any P6 overseas trip or excursion?[
The school gave the girls a graduation Teddy bear each. It's huge, white and made of cloth. The girls had a great time autographing on one another's bears. A very thoughtful memento indeed! -

There were quite a few excursions - to the zoo and West Coast Park. I don't know where else cos DD missed two weeks of school (with the form teacher's blessings, of course). There were also workshops planned for the girls like scrapbooking. On top of that, the girls had to do some kind of charity project. In short, they were gainfully occupied after the PSLE. Very good planning indeed, unlike some other primary schools whereby the kids were idling and being utterly bored!

Great that they were gainfully occupied after PSLE. I think the girls really want to spend the last few days/weeks together bec not all of them will be in the same secondary school next year.

hi babystickyfingers,
for phase 2C balloting within less than 1 km - Nanyang is more competitive than Raffles:-

My DD told me today, she wanted to graduate soon, as she likes the bear so much, and she was also envy of P6 students can have Mcdonald at school…

Actually never really know what is the practice for prize-winning day....as my girl never gets to go
For prize winner (p2) - Is it only the RGPS girl selected for each of the 10 classes, plus the level tops? Are prizes awarded for the subject level tops etc? -
Today on my way to school to pick mygal, I saw girls hugging the bear walking out of school. Every bear is different and unique. Oh how lovely... Feel like calling the school can I have one??? Haha

thought i could clarify for you. im a P6 student in RGPS.
RGPS girl is selected for each of the 10 classes and there is also a best progress award 1 per class. that is for the girl who improves the most from her sa1 score to sa2. the top 5 of the level will be awarded a prize each. subject level tops only come in in the upper primary years. and in upper primary there is also sac award for 1 girl in the whole level as well as principal's award for a p6 girl. the top 5 psle scorers of the previous years are also invited back to the school to be given prizes. -

Just 1 other question: from p3 onwards, is there re-shuffling of classes based on results on a yearly basis?
I am sure you are now having a good time after 6 years of hard work, so many of us are curious on the bear souvenirs that all P6 girls receive, would you be able to post a picture here?
All the best to your PSLE result too :rahrah:
Now I finally understand the basis of prize giving - Each class minumum 2 (RGPS girl & most improved award). No class level prizes which is unlike the practice adopted by some other schools.
During the PTM meeting, the teacher was also not very willing to reveal how individual student fared relatives to peers, just some generic statement like \"above-average\" etc which is not very informative....
