My dd went for her review at KKH recently and with the help of atropine drops the last 4 months, her degree seems to have stabilised. So relieved. Doc says to continue with drops.
I am very concerned that once she starts P1, it may go up again. Will just have to keep nagging at her to practise good eye habits. Hope atropine is helping the other kids here -

My DS2 has inward eyelids that causes the eyelashes to rub on the cornea. So DS2 always rub his eyes and now doc recommend surgery to push the eyelids outward. Otherwise, there will be permanent scar on the corneas. Did your DS go for any surgery?
my ds did not go for surgery. his eyelash is quite long, so now i guess it did not affect him as much. only when he is sick and has sticky eyes, do i see that portion of the lashes sticking (obvious) to his eyeball.
yes, i heard about needing to do surgery for severe cases. maybe you wanna get second opinion first?
have you brought your child to see a pediatric ophthalmologist to determine if it is truly trichiasis (inward turning eyelids). Sometime the condition is intermittent and surgery may not be required. KKH or SNEC would have the specialists to help diagnose properly. -

I attended the public forum by SNEC (Singapore National Eye Centre) recently. Yes, altropine eyedrop is the only proven treatment for controlling the myopia progression. The second study of altopine eyedrop with lower dosage by SNEC will complete next year. He gave us a book - authored by him - about eye care for kids though (for free). So I'm not complaining

My DS has been under atropine drop for the past 1 year and his myopia has been under good control. Before the program, his degree increased at a frightening 200-300 rate yearly!
Doc advised to keep him in program for another year till his early teen. Hope he can complete by next year. -
Sometimes I pity those kids who have to wear glasses at such a young age. It must be a pain to see adorable little kids have myopia and astigmatism. Thankfully for science, there is a health fruit juice that can improve eyesight and astigmatism. Proven and recommended effective by many parents. Those parents who are interested can pm me for more info. Lastly bless all kids to have a wonderful life and future. ī

Not all kids who wear glasses have myopia or astigmatism. Some kids need to wear glasses because they have a visual impairment, and wearing glasses help them see better. A kid I know have this condition, and it pains the parents when others make unwarranted comments about their child. -
