Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors' Award

From 2 years ago, I have friends that entered NUS High with an aggregate of 240 and RI with an aggregate of slightly above 250 because of DSA. And their awards were the NSW papers that don’t exactly mean much.

This award is pretty prestigious. It is quite equivalent to the awards that A star gives out to inventors and researchers every year.

A friend of mine child in the primary section (GEP), recently exhited a poster at the NTU during the IvP (Innovation Programme) fair. He told me that all those exhitors will have the chance to submit their respective project for the TKK award. He is asking me to post a inquiry on Kiasu Parents about the above award.

Will the TKK awards (4 typs of award, eg. silver, merit, commendation encouragement) play a important part for the application of DSA?

Anyone who would like to share how useful or important as their own children or friends' children had been awarded the Tkkyia before?

Hi ! Just to share with you. My child won an award at this year's TKKYIA. Although she got into the school of her choice via DSA, l would like to assure you that the number of awardees in the primary school section is very small each year (I cannot remember off-hand but you can check up the TKK website) and is unlikely to play a major role in DSA application, which emphasizes the 'whole package'. I don't think so. I think the TKK awards are very prestigious. If you win one, it will really help you get into your DSA school.

We were involved in this TKK events. Some of the judges/sponsors are great innovators who are not so acad inclined, but can invent great products. :love:


Don't let them hear about the DSA.... They will be very very sad.
