For those who can, wait. I couldn't and converted my off peak car to normal car, paying $7000 for 4 years of COE.

Well, would half the car deregistered, as the other half may took advantage of high COE (hence high resale value) and trade in or simply sell their car…

COE prices are driven by demand and supply.. COE is there to curb growth in car since singapore land is limited. Can't have many cars on the road..

Now the population just cross 5m, expecting to reach 6.5m and also influx of foreigners....

so.. happy waiting for COE to drop.. 🙂

I think the question is that even if it comes down, will it ever go to below $40K?S$30K? S$20K? S$10K???

I really wonder. Unless there is a global depression or the government changes its policy on car ownership. Otherwise they will be happy to limit the cars on the road.

We got in when COE was S$55k. Dealer got a COE for us at S$65K. Sort of their loss.

Not sure about the loss for car company, they already factor in the risk of COE increase, think there is a limit of some amount that the dealer would refund us some cash if COE drop below 10K when we first bought our car. Dunno whether there is such a rule for the other way round. A colleague of mine bought just after us have to top up cash when his secured COE increased alot...

My guess it won't go below 30K over the next 5 years.... At most extend COE loh.....

                        :gloomy:
