justmewayne:
Hi MandyMummy, my batch did not go through the gap semester. However, my juniors (Year 4s next year) will be experiencing it next year. From what I have heard, they will either have Overseas Immersion Programme, Work Exposure, or a modified Differentiated Modules Programme.
:thankyou: justmewayne. -

This morning took my ds to take public transport to RI and realised tt the gate facing the Bishan road is only open from 5.45 am to 7.45 am during school days.
Gate 1 which is round the corner is always open / manned with with guardhouse -

Your son will be able to enter outside of the 5.45 - 7.45 timeslot with a registered EZ-Link card (notice the card scanner located at the right side of the gate). By the first 2 weeks of January your son's card should be registered and he'll have access.
Besides, if your son is exiting school, it's always open from the inside.
Also, it's good that you're letting your son be independent and take public transport. -
Thanks alot justwayne!

kitcat:
for bishan station, you got to walk by the main road, cross the traffic junction, etc and if it rains, it is a hasslehi,

for marymount station, there is a covered linkway all the way into the school
both of equal distance, depending which part of school you are referring to ... year 1 -4 @ raffles square or year 5/6 -

my ds year 1 next year, so no need to cross any road if use the covered linkway from marymount station? is the linkway to the jc side? will he be allowed to enter before register his ezlink card to school?

oh ok, thanks! -
I read in the earlier posts (2010 batch) someone commented that there’s a reason why RI did not pass the GAT tests of some dsa applicants. And that it might be better for those who did not pass to go to other good schools.
My son was one of those who did not pass the GAT. He is from mainstream. But he did well enough in his PSLE.
We put RI as the first choice. If he gets in, I hope he can cope with the pressure in RI. But does anyone know of students who did not pass GAT but still could cope in RI?
