POA Teacher:
She said she had no problems passing through the immigration at Yogjakata.

She told me that 2 year KTKLN = 600 000 rupiah, 3 year KTKLN = 800 000 rupiah.

Either she got ripped off, or she's lying to you.
Only 290,000 for 2 yrs.

I have thought of that possibility before.
However when I called up the office in Yogjarkarta, they quoted me 400 000 rupiah.
I know Batam is 290 000, but the return ferry fare per fax is $50 inclusive of fuel and tax. So if maid goes alone to Batam it will be almost the same as she gets it in her hometown. If you go to batam with her, you have to pay for your own ferry fare, and the time spent there- not worth it lah.
My maid paid 290 000 in her hometown....heard her friend paid 1.5M in Jarkata.

Just out of curiosity, where is your maid's hometown?

Yup, I heard in Jakarta is very expensive to make the card.

LOL...... all these discrepancy in pricing.
Anyway, I gave her $100 to make the card.
More or less, she gets to keep the extra.
Just glad she is back! 😄

My maid made hers in Cilacap, but on the card it is stated that she made it in Semarang! :?

She is in Solo city...the nearest to her hometown if not wrong, is Semarang. I got all the documents (original & photocopy) ready for her. She said very fast.

Thanks, Mummy of 2 Princes.
If there is ever a next time, I will instruct my maid to go to Semarang, which is as far away as Cilacap from her hometown.

I kinda get the picture.
Since my maid made her card in Cilacap but it is stated as it is made in Semarang, maybe that's why more expensive, may be like go through an agent?

Btw, I also photostated all the necessary documents.
But at Yogjakarta, they insisted that she produced her birth cert and nric.

Hi, I wrote the story in The Straits Times regarding the changes. I'm told by the Indonesian Embassy that the URL to go to is http://ktkln.bnp2tki.go.id/ but it is only in Bahasa Indonesia. Alternatively, your maid can apply for the card when she is in Indonesia, I'm told it takes less than an hour to process and issue the card and it is free of charge. It can be done at the Jakarta or Surubaya airports, or at any of the 19 designated labour offices across Indonesia. The card lasts for a period of two years. Just make sure you have all the documents ready before applying for the card (i.e passport, insurance paid for, work visa issued, etc).

If there is any employer here who has faced some difficulty with their maid returning home because of the changes, please email me. [email protected]
is that mean we can actually apply online via this link?http://ktkln.bnp2tki.go.id/

Hi micollh, please note that the KTKLN card application is NOT available in Singapore.

Your helper has to make it in Indonesia.

However she needs to get the working agreement which can only be drafted by the Indonesian embassy which will then have their official stamp.

She also needs to buy a worker's insurance when she applies for the card over in Indonesia.

Some other info : Heard from my helper and her other friends that in some offices in Indonesia, depending on which place she makes it, they also require their birth cert and IC, although this was not stated in the required documents that they need to bring.

From what I know, as long as the KTKLN is still valid before she leaves Indonesia to come back here to work, you don't need to apply for another card.

However if she has not applied for the card before, then i think (this one i am not sure) the KTKLN card will follow the expiry of the working agreement.
The last time i tried calling and leaving emails with the embassy to no avail.

It would be better if you could go down and draft a new working agreement. They are very efficient there.
