      Hi Chatelaine
Just curious - is your DD very young?
My DS (now 4) used to cough v often, esp on lying down position, tts why he always vomitted milk/food out even if he only coughed 1-2 times, everything will come out like fountain!... :scared:

My DS is now better (cross fingers!) due to TCM.
Becos he had such frequent cough, he was referred to KK-ENT few mths ago and doc said his tonsils are very large, need to be removed as well as his adenoids (hmm didnt know what that was for before this!).
Doc said his super large tonsils may be very much one of the reasons why he gets infecton/cough so often (TCM doc also said that).
Actually abit worried as he is still so young but e professor said this is the commonest procedure in ENT among kids & he performed this op many times. Procedure will take 30-45 mins.

Well just hope he will be better aft the removal...
      Hi iLoveChubby

I hope your kid gets well soon šŸ˜‰

My DD is now 3yrs old and was diagnosed with Bronchiolitis when she was 2yrs old. I think her cough might be more or less triggered off by her Bronchiolitis.

She has the tendency to cough and vomit out her food... Just like a Merlion! We had a tough time cleaning her bed. It can happen twice in the night and a few days in a row. Imagine the piles of bedsheets waiting to be washed.

I find that feeding her Manuka honey reduced her cough frequency. That goes the same for those who has HFMD, gets healed faster.

Haha so both of us have \"mini merlions\" at home.... Ya i used to need to change my DS's bedsheets all e time too!...
On afew occasions, he actually slept on his own vomit because me and my DH did not realise he was coughing and vomitted on e bed!... :faint:

Btw we have decided not to go ahead with the minor procedure (of removing his tonsils) as he has been quite well recently after TCM and Manuka Honey :xedfingers:
No matter how \"common\" is the procedure, there is still risk esp he is still so young ... we shall monitor his progress and see how.

Oh we will prob start to bring him swimming on a weekly basis.
One of my fren, who is a experienced swimming coach, advised that kids shd start swimming to build up their stamina and you will find that your kids get sick less often.
Quite true for my DS1 who has been going for weekly lessons.

it just reminded once again, how natural food are almost always better and has very good nutrients, and vitamins. Scare me to see how many artificial food stuff , and how preservatives being so loose used these days.

Well, we \"choose\" not to go for the op for the moment since his doc did not mention the op is a must.
Recently the weather has been erratic... Super hot in the morning and storm in the afternoon....

Me? I stay in the North area... u too? (oops got :offtopic: or not.... :scratchhead: )

i think beginning medication can be used to control and make it all better but for long term, it will be good to cure it by diets and the air quality in your house, the amount of sunlight, the level of cleanliness that affects the amount of dust in the air and of course his/her own lifestyle habits. that can then be the longstanding solution to his/her problem. šŸ™‚

That's what I did. Wash the bedsheets every 2 weeks, if diligent enough wash it weekly!

Open the windows to air the room, vacuum weekly, clean the fans and dust on the cabinets. šŸ˜‰

                        Hi thatsmygirl!
Ya I do agree with you.. i also hope i can slow down his intake of TCM (v ex!..) and switch to swimming & maintaining healthy diets. Like chatelaine, my family also wash our bedsheets weekly, do daily vaccum, no more aircon at night...
Btw.. is the girl in the picture your daughter??... Super duper cute!!!! :rahrah: :rahrah:

Do any parents ever engage any anti-dustmine companies to do an thorough cleaning and vaccuming of your beds, furniture etc?
For those parents who hv tried, is it really effective??...
