Haha so both of us have \"mini merlions\" at home.... Ya i used to need to change my DS's bedsheets all e time too!...
On afew occasions, he actually slept on his own vomit because me and my DH did not realise he was coughing and vomitted on e bed!... :faint:

Btw we have decided not to go ahead with the minor procedure (of removing his tonsils) as he has been quite well recently after TCM and Manuka Honey :xedfingers:
No matter how \"common\" is the procedure, there is still risk esp he is still so young ... we shall monitor his progress and see how.

Oh we will prob start to bring him swimming on a weekly basis.
One of my fren, who is a experienced swimming coach, advised that kids shd start swimming to build up their stamina and you will find that your kids get sick less often.
Quite true for my DS1 who has been going for weekly lessons.
        Hi iLoveChubby

Glad to hear that you DS don't have to go for ops.
It's always raining nowadays, guess you will have to wait till next mth for a nice weather. BTW, when do you stay?

Well, we \"choose\" not to go for the op for the moment since his doc did not mention the op is a must.
Recently the weather has been erratic... Super hot in the morning and storm in the afternoon....

Me? I stay in the North area... u too? (oops got :offtopic: or not.... :scratchhead: )

i think beginning medication can be used to control and make it all better but for long term, it will be good to cure it by diets and the air quality in your house, the amount of sunlight, the level of cleanliness that affects the amount of dust in the air and of course his/her own lifestyle habits. that can then be the longstanding solution to his/her problem. ๐Ÿ™‚

That's what I did. Wash the bedsheets every 2 weeks, if diligent enough wash it weekly!

Open the windows to air the room, vacuum weekly, clean the fans and dust on the cabinets. ๐Ÿ˜‰

                  Hi thatsmygirl!
Ya I do agree with you.. i also hope i can slow down his intake of TCM (v ex!..) and switch to swimming & maintaining healthy diets. Like chatelaine, my family also wash our bedsheets weekly, do daily vaccum, no more aircon at night...
Btw.. is the girl in the picture your daughter??... Super duper cute!!!! :rahrah: :rahrah:

Do any parents ever engage any anti-dustmine companies to do an thorough cleaning and vaccuming of your beds, furniture etc?
For those parents who hv tried, is it really effective??...

There was this nepal based company that came over to my house to demonstrate the vacumn cleaner which can remove dustmites. Apparently, the vacumn cleaner works wonder as he showed us the amount of dustmite that was caught in the filter bag. However, did not engage their service as it was too expensive. They even promote to sell the cleaner which cost approx $4k >_<

We refrain from medication unless there is fever. So as to let their immune system do its job. The only challenging time i could recall is when they were 4-5 months old. Blocked nose, cough and fever one after the other. That was the most serious. The have now gotten stronger and rarely down with flu. We also give them Scotts Fish oil and lots of fruits daily.

Itโ€™s very common that kids catch cold. The symptoms are the bodies natural way to protecting us against viruses. I use natural home remedies. Both my sons 2 and 6 do not need any medications they will recover. All it requires is parentsโ€™ patience. Help your kids fight the cold, they will grow stronger every time. Iโ€™ve been trying since 2008 and now very confidence that they donโ€™t need medication. Just remove the food that are mucous forming such as dairy products. Try natural home remedies, natural supplements help a lot and keep them warm. If they cough non-stop, rub vicks till warm then apply on chest, back and the sole of their feet for at least 5 seconds and wear socks. If dry cough then drinks take probiotics, yoghurt(make sure not too cold) and apple cider vinegar with raw honey. Take care of the little ones.
