Remedy for Blocked Nose?

Hi all,


just to share with you what the chinese physician told me. He advises me to stop consuming chicken meat and eggs for my running/blocked nose problem. And cos my \"fei\" is weak so I am drinking vinegar and go for herbal foot spa to improve the condition.
Maybe you would like to can cut down or temporary stop chicken and egg intake for yourself/kids to see if it helps

if your child has blocked nose very often you might want to seek medical help instead, it could very well be sinus. regretfully i have it and it seems like my daughter has inherited it as well. so yups, seek medical assistance if it becomes too frequent.

I have sensitive nose my whole life and unfortunately my son inherited that from me


Please refrain from using any medixated nose spray if possible and if really necessary, keep to the instruction given by doctor. Excessive use of nose spray is BAD..I had to go under surgery because of prolonged use.

Now with my son seemingly facing the same condition of sensitive nose, my hubby and I tried many methods as follows.
1) We turn on our honeywell humidifier day and night in a closed room environment, so that he breathes in clean air, it works!
2) We tap his nose bridge with warm towel and that helps to control the mucus. It works and he sleeps better!
3) Let him have warm water every hour
4) Use Sterimar to clear his nostril
5) Every month or so, will visit chinese physician to get herbs to 'regulate his nose.
6) Swimming
7) if kid is still young, I believed in refraining from cold drinks etc to prevent nose irritation, which in turn will lead to mucus, only followed by runny nose.

before all the above, we have also had our fair share of western doctors' visit. mmZytrex and other various medication are no strangers to us but we didn't feel they can treat the root.

Thanks for sharing.Wonder what is Using Sterimar to clear his nostril?Which TCM you go to?Anyone used salt lamp to cure sinus?I heard from my friend that it works well for her mother.I was told that one should not take too much TCM medicine too.It may lead to liver failure or hearing problem.My friend's mum believes only in TCM has been taking their medicine when she's sick.Now,she has hearing problem,one ear is death now.The western doctor diagnosed that she'd taken too much chinese medicine.Wonder how true?

Sterimar is salt water used for cleaning nostrils, safe for even babies.


Many years ago, I tried a TCM in Yishun , a very popular and super super expensive one which is located at a void deck. The medicine did not work for my boys ( in fact it got worse) and myself so I gave up TCM for many years before I believe in them again, after seeing my family members treated by the current one we are seeing. All I can say is sometimes, it will depend if the medicine is prescribed is suitable, you have to try and observe yourself. But I have to say that These days, the boys seldom see western doctors.
