i just took my dd for her vaccination last weekend. hers was in fact late liao. she is now 4mths old & she just took her 1st 6-in-1 jab. in fact b4 hand, when i took her to this clinic, the GP refused to jab for my dd, saying she is already late in vaccination & told me to seek PD advise. my hubby said this GP kaisi but also cannot blame him cos he go by law... :nunchuk:

so hubby & i called up 4other clinics(GP & PD) & all confirmed my dd still can take her 1st 6-in-1 jab @ 4mths but cannot delay any longer, ve to do it immediately.

the reason why my dd was late in vaccination because when she was 1mth old, she had flu/running nose den follow by fever, so we had to wait until she recovered.

        Hi buds!

Sorry I MIA, I was on a long vacation with family and just returned.

The immunization schedules can be as much an art as a science. It varies from immunization to immunization, and on the whole, there is no real rush and if one is unwell, there is little risk in delaying until one is better. Please do not take this post as medical advice and do consult your doc.

Thanks for your comments! We finally brought him for his 4 month jab at 5 months plus (6weeks late) and 5 month jabs at 6 months plus. DS3's nose was still drippy and he was still coughing, but the PD assessed that it was OK to take the jabs. The lesson for me was to bring the sick baby in anyway and let the doc assess his condition. If he really isn't well enough, the doc can treat the illness and skip the jab. The receptionists tend to be conservative and will tell you to skip.

Hi Buds, did ur kid get fever after the second MMR shot?

My gal had a really high fever after the first MMR shot. She just got her 2nd shot and I am anxiously waiting to see if the fever will come on.

Second shot? Hmm.. i may have remembered wrongly cos i thought it was only one shot. :scratchhead:

Yes, they reacted to the MMR jab with really high fever (for both my girls).
Fully came down on the 4th or 5th day that week. Poor babies.

                Is yours feeling better now?

Now the 2nd shot of MMR has been brought forward. The child used to receive the 2nd shot when they enter pri 1, now is done at 15 - 18 mths.

No, applicable to all kids. For those who miss, School Heath will still check at Pri 1 and give the necessary shot at Pri 1.
Otherwise for all kids who have not entered pri school and not given 2nd shot of MMR can go to any polyclinics to get the shot.
